摘要： The method of manufacturing a nozzle plate comprises the steps of: applying a protective sheet to a first surface of a nozzle plate in which nozzles are to be formed; forming holes which pass through the nozzle plate and have bottoms inside the protective sheet, from a side of a second surface of the nozzle plate reverse to the first surface; filling a filling material into the holes, from the side of the second surface; peeling away the protective sheet after the filling step; forming a liquid-repelling film on the first surface of the nozzle plate after the peeling step; and removing the filling material after the liquid-repelling film forming step.

摘要： A method of manufacturing at least one projecting section of a nozzle plate used in a liquid ejection head, includes: a partial lyophilic rendering step of rendering a lyophilic characteristic to a portion of a lyophobic film provided on an ejection surface side of a substrate in which a nozzle is formed, so as to form a lyophobic portion and a lyophilic portion on the ejection surface side of the substrate; a resin deposition step of depositing a curable resin on the lyophilic portion which has been rendered the lyophilic characteristic; and a curing step of curing the resin deposited on the lyophilic portion in such a manner that the cured resin forms the projecting section.

摘要： The method manufactures a nozzle plate including a nozzle having a tapered section where a diameter gradually decreases from a liquid supply side toward a liquid ejection side, and a straight section which is substantially cylindrical and is situated nearer a liquid ejection side of the tapered section. The method comprises the steps of: forming a first photosensitive material in a form of a layer on a substrate; placing a straight section forming member including a hole section having a shape substantially corresponding to a shape of the straight section, on the first photosensitive material; filling a second photosensitive material into the hole section; radiating a prescribed light toward the straight section forming member, in such a manner that substantially all of the second photosensitive material is exposed and the first photosensitive material is exposed in a tapered shape having a diameter which gradually increases toward the substrate; removing the straight section forming member from the first photosensitive material and the second photosensitive material; carrying out development of the first photosensitive material and the second photosensitive material after removing the straight section forming member from the first photosensitive material and the second photosensitive material; forming a metal layer which is to serve as the nozzle plate, on the substrate, by a plating method where the first photosensitive material and the second photosensitive material left on the substrate after carrying out the development of the first photosensitive material and the second photosensitive material are used as a mold; and removing the metal layer from the substrate, the first photosensitive material and the second photosensitive material.

摘要： There is provided an ink jet head including a first drive element which is provided in correspondence with each ink jet nozzle and which has a thin film resistor for ejecting ink droplets from each ink jet nozzle and a thin film conductive electrode for feeding electricity to the thin film resistor, a second drive element which is formed in a vicinity of the first drive element and which vibrates ink in each ink jet nozzle corresponding to the first drive element for changing a meniscus position and a drive signal control device which controls at least one of a drive signal given to the first drive element and a drive signal given to the second drive element so that the ink droplets can be ejected at a desired meniscus position of the ink in each ink jet nozzle. There is also provided an ink jet printer using the ink jet head. The size of ink droplets can be made uniform, whereby a high-quality image can be recorded. The burden in the semiconductor process of a thermal ink jet head can be reduced which enables improvement of the production yield.

摘要： The liquid droplet discharge head comprises: a channel which is formed by joining together a plurality of thin plates which are laminated with an adhesive; and an adhesive escape groove which is provided on at least one joined surface of the thin plates in at least one location on a periphery of the channel when a ratio M S ′ determined in relation to the channel is greater than a predetermined value, wherein: the ratio M S ′ is a ratio between an area M and an area S′; the area M is an area of the adhesive running off to the channel at joining assuming that no adhesive escape groove is provided on the periphery of the channel, the area M being a projected area on a cross-section perpendicular to a flow direction of the channel; and the area S′ is an area of a cross-section perpendicular to the flow direction of the channel at post-joining assuming that no adhesive runs off to the channel.
