摘要:
An auxiliary luggage attachment and security tether mechanism secure an auxiliary luggage case to a main luggage case for support on and by an exterior surface of a main luggage case, and secure at least the main luggage case to an object. The attachment mechanism comprises a clutch mechanism, an elongated flexible strap having an inner end fixably attached to the clutch mechanism and the outer end attached to a hook, the clutch mechanism being biased to pull the flexible strap onto the clutch mechanism and retract the hook to the clutch mechanism. A lid is pivotally mounted adjacent to the clutch mechanism and has a selectively open position where the hook and strap are accessible, and a selectively closed position where the lid covers the clutch mechanism and the strap or hook to the extent the strap is retracted onto the clutch mechanism. The lid engages the clutch mechanism in the open position to release the clutch mechanism whereby the strap can be extended from the clutch mechanism. The lid engages the clutch mechanism in the closed position to hinder the movement of the clutch mechanism and fix the length of extension of the strap. A lock mechanism in the lid locks the lid in the closed position, covering the clutch mechanism. The hook at the end of the strap can be replaced in the receptacle to engage the clutch mechanism, and the lid can then be locked to secure the hook and the strap to the clutch mechanism.

A one-piece, lightweight, molded plastic hat that comprises, in combination, a thin, molded plastic sheet forming a hat wall dome having an inner side, the sheet at the dome everywhere having thickness less than 3/16 inch; the sheet at the dome forming a corrugation having a local portion defining a U-shaped cross section; and a local plastic reinforcement sub-sheet formed to have U-shaped cross section matching that of the dome local portion, the sub-sheet fitting and adhesively bonded to the dome sheet local portion at the inner side of the hat dome.

An attachment mechanism for an auxiliary luggage case which is attached to a main luggage case to attach an auxiliary luggage case for support on and by an exterior surface of the main luggage case. The attachment mechanism includes a flexible elongated belt member connected to the main luggage case, a hook member connected to an outer end of the belt member, and a pocket having a size sufficient to contain the hook and the belt member. A selectively openable and closeable cover member allows access to the pocket to remove and extend the belt member and the hook member, and also restricts access to the pocket and fully confines the retracted belt member and hook member within the pocket. The hook member is preferably pivotal to an extended position in which to attach to luggage and to a retracted position which consumes less space than in the extended position. The hook member may be adjustably positioned along the length of the belt when in the retracted position and is fixed to the selected location on the belt when in the extended position.

Luggage cases of the softside construction which are capable of being collapsed when not in use are known. However, these past constructions are cumbersome, heavy, or comprise a number of parts which must be assembled by the retailer in order to display the case in its erected condition or must be erected by the consumer before the case can be used for travel, packing, etc. The disclosed luggage case comprises a 6-sided case of the duffel type which includes a bottom board, a front batten stiffening the front panel, and a back batten stiffening the back panel, and including at least perimeter stiffening means, preferably a stiffening wire or coil wire around each end panel. The bottom board is releasable to permit it to be placed in parallel with the stiffened front panel. The packing door carries the stiffening batten for the back panel, and this permits the batten to be moved parallel to the bottom board and front batten. Then the stiffening means for the end panels may be hinged about their intersection with the front panel in order to bring all of the stiffening members parallel to and juxtapositioned with one another for compact storage.

A garment bag hook containing parallel support legs adapted to grip opposite sides of a door to support the bag from the door. The legs are connected together by support surfaces which allow the bag to be suspended from a horizontal rod. A ring or loop swivelly attached to the hook adjacent one of the support legs facilitates the rotation of the garment bag from front to back as it is supported on a door.

A garment bag adapted to fold into a suitcase-like configuration for traveling includes corner compartments located within the interior bag in the space above the shoulders of garments supported on hangers within the bag. Cross straps extend over the shoulders of garments supported on hangers in the bag, and criss-cross over the upper portion of the garment. The cross straps support the upper portion of the garments on the hangers and restrain them against sliding downward when the bag is in the folded configuration. A stay bar is removably connected across the middle portion of the bag to support the garments when the bag is folded into the suitcase-like configuration. The ends of the straps are connected to the stay bar. A lower portion of an interior panel of the garment bag includes means for supporting the lower portions of long garments in a U-shaped configuration above a bottom gussett of the bag instead of occupying the bottom of the bag in a wrinkled bunch.

A hanger support trolley assembly which allows conventional clothes hangers to be loaded onto a support even though corner pockets in the garment bag are closely spaced on either side of the assembly. In one embodiment the hangers are supported on a sleeve slidably mounted on a support rod. When the sleeve is extended, hangers can be placed on the sleeve, and when closed a flange on the outer end of the sleeve retains the hangers in place. In another embodiment, the hangers are supported directly on a support rod, and the space surrounding the free end of the rod is guarded by one or more biased jaws of a spring clip. In both embodiments a concave overhead surface closely spaced from the arcuate rod prevents the hangers from being permanently transversely dislodged from the support.
