摘要： A toner cartridge is provided removably fitted to a toner supply pipe for supplying toner to a developing device. The toner cartridge includes, as a toner discharging mechanism, a toner discharging portion having a toner discharge port, a toner conveyor screw for conveying toner inside toner container and a shutter for opening and closing the toner discharge port. The shutter has a loosening member. When the toner cartridge is fitted to the toner supply pipe, the loosening member moves inside the toner container as the shutter moves along the toner discharge port.

摘要： A pair of indentations is formed with a vertical spacing on a side wall of a toner cartridge, respective translucent windows are arranged on opposing upper and lower surfaces of the indentations protruding into the toner cartridge, and a light-emitting element and a light-receiving element of a remaining toner sensor are inserted to the indentations such that the light-emitting element and the light-receiving element of the remaining toner sensor face each other via the translucent windows of the indentations. When there is sufficient toner remaining in the toner cartridge, there is toner in the space between the transparent plates, and the space between a light-emitting diode and a phototransistor is blocked such that light is not incident on the phototransistor, whereas when there is little toner remaining in the toner cartridge, there is no toner in the space between the transparent plates, and the light is incident on the phototransistor via the space between the light-emitting diode and the photoresistor.

摘要： A cleaning unit for an electrophotographic copier is provided to remove toner and developing material from a photo-sensitive material from which a developed image has been transferred and includes a housing having an opening facing the photo-sensitive material. A main blade member is provided in the housing of the cleaning unit and has an upper portion which abuts against the photo-sensitive material through an opening of the housing to scrape the toner and developing materials off the photo-sensitive material. The cleaning unit further includes a receiving blade covering the lower portion of the opening, and having an upper end portion abutted against the photo-sensitive material to allow the toner and developing material scraped off by the main blade to fall into the opening and a film-shaped reinforcing member bonded to the surface of the receiving blade facing the inside of the housing to prevent deformation of the receiving blade.

摘要： A toner cartridge includes a container for containing toner, a toner discharge section having a toner discharge port, an auger screw provided in the container, for conveying toner in the container to the toner discharge section, a shutter for opening and closing the toner discharge port, and a toner flowing-out preventing member provided in a communicating part between the container and the toner discharge section, for preventing flowing out of toner by closing an opening of the communicating part. The toner flowing-out preventing member is configured so as to open the opening in conjunction with an opening operation of the shutter.

摘要： To solve problems that the amount of reuse toner increases with time recovery of reuse toner is efficiently achieved while forming an image of high quality. In a toner replenishing apparatus, toner recovered by a cleaning unit is conveyed via conveying device and contained in a recovery toner container. When an amount of the recovery toner exceeds a predetermined capacity of the recovery toner container, the recovery toner flows into a fresh toner container over an upper edge of a partition wall. Fresh toner and recovery toner are replenished to a developing unit via a fresh toner replenishing roller and a recovery toner replenishing roller, respectively, and the ratio between fresh toner and recovery toner is selected so that the fresh toner occupies a larger part than the recovery toner. This ratio is controlled on the basis of the cumulative rotation time of a photoconductor drum counted by a counting device.

The toner cartridge is equipped with a shutter member that is disposed on one edge side of the toner discharge opening and is so constituted as to move to the other edge side across the toner discharge opening to cover the toner discharge opening. The toner cartridge-holding device is equipped with a shutter-moving device which moves the front edge of the shutter member from one edge side to the other edge side of the toner discharge opening.
