A microwave induced plasma source includes a coaxial waveguide made up of a cylindrical outer conductor and an inner conductor which has the form of a helical coil, a discharge tube inserted into the helical coil in the axial direction thereof, and having an inner tube for introducing a sample and an outer tube for introducing a plasma gas so that a double tube structure is formed, a discharge-tube cooling device for causing a cooling gas to flow along the outer periphery of the discharge tube in directions parallel to the axis thereof, and a microwave power source for supplying microwave power to the coaxial waveguide. When the microwave induced plasma source is used as the light source of a spectrometer or the ion source of a mass spectrometer, a trace element can be readily determined qualitatively or quantitatively.

A flat discharge panel comprises a plurality of cathodes parallel to one another, a plurality of intermediate electrodes each of which intersects the cathodes, and has holes at parts intersecting with the respective cathodes and which are parallel to one another. Anodes are disposed on the sides of the intermediate electrodes remote from the cathodes in a manner to be respectively parallel with the cathodes and auxiliary discharge spaces are provided for the respective cathodes. Main discharge spaces are provided in the anodes in correspondence with the respective priming holes of the intermediate electrodes, so that principally electrons in plasma, created in the auxiliary discharge space, are diffused and accelerated into the main discharge space. A method of driving the flat discharge panel including scanning, based on the transfer of the glow of the auxiliary discharge, is carried out by the use of the intermediate electrodes.

The fixing device includes a first roller having a first elastic layer formed in a cylindrical shape on an outer surface of the first roller; and a second roller having a second elastic layer formed in a cylindrical shape on an outer surface of the second roller. A hardness of the second elastic layer is higher than that of the first elastic layer, and a nip section is formed between the first elastic layer and the second elastic layer. A longitudinal length of the first elastic layer in an axial direction of the first roller is greater than that of the second elastic layer in an axial direction of the second roller.

Because the resin composition and the molded article have a high reaction rate of dissociation of the crosslinking during heating and a high reaction rate of formation of the crosslinking during cooling, they can be utilized for various applications, such as melt molding and the like, as the the thermally reversible crosslinked resin composition and the thermally reversible crosslinked molded article which are substantially valuable for commercial application.

Chemical reactions of superconducting raw materials with active oxygen atoms and their charged particles are accelerated by using at least oxygen plasma in the fabrication process of a superconductive body. Thereby an ionic crystal is grown in a short time, which provides stable superconducting materials of high quality such as high critical temperature and low resistivity. In another aspect, a substrate is irradiated simultaneously with streams of vapor of metal elements, of which a superconductive body is to be composed, and a stream of gas of ions generated in a plasma chamber and film growth is effected while keeping the substrate at a temperature higher than 400.degree. C. to produce a ceramic type superconductive thin film.
