摘要： An improved spinning reel is disclosed wherein the spinning reel has a rotor drag system assembly located on its handle. The rotor drag system allows the fisherman to apply a selective amount of frictional force to the reel handle and reel main drive gear. The selective frictional force, when set less than the force on the spool drag assembly, allows the reel main drive gear and the fishing reel rotor driven thereby, to remain stationary while fighting a fish, even when the reel handle is being turned. This prevents subsequent twist from being imparted to the fishing line. The rotor drag incorporates a rotor drag assembly containing an input shaft which drivingly engage the spool drive shaft. A clutch plate is provided between the reel handle and the input shaft to provide selective transmission of rotational handle force to the input shaft.

摘要： A spinning-type fishing reel is provided with a rear-actuated front drag. Concentric shafts are provided with a spool freely rotatable on one shaft. Drag members operate on the spool to provide drag to the spool. A drag knob on the rear of the reel operates on one of the shafts to shift the one shaft axially relative to the other, thereby applying pressure to the drag members and to the spool to increase the drag on the spool. In one form, the spool may be freely rotatable on a spool carrier which is keyed to one of the shafts. A spool cap attached to one of the shafts operates through the drag members to apply drag to the spool. The spool is urged against an abutment carried by the other shaft such that moving one shaft relative to the other by turning the rear-mounted drag knob either increases or decreases the drag on the spool.

摘要： An improvement in a fishing reel of the type having a housing, a line-carrying spool which is rotatable upon line being drawn off the spool, a friction generating structure rotatable with the spool and drag applying structure for biasably engaging the friction generating structure to produce a drag force resisting rotation of the spool. A first drag actuating means is provided for movement in a first manner to adjustably increase bias of the drag applying structure against the friction generating structure at a first rate. Second drag actuating structure is provided for movement in a corresponding first manner to adjustably increase bias of the drag applying structure against the friction generating structure at a second rate, that is different than the first rate. The user can selectively operate the first and second drag actuating structure depending on the desired rate of drag change.

摘要： A braking device for the spool of a fishing rod is disclosed which contains two separate braking adjustments. The first braking adjustment adjusts the coarse breaking force. The second braking adjustment adjusts a finer braking force. The embodiment discribed uses two springs to bias braking boards to friction boards, the two springs being adjustable separately. The first spring is adjustable by varying the linear displacement of an adjusting cylinder which is threaded into a portion of the fishing spool apparatus. A second adjusting mechanism uses a cam with a varying radius pending on the location of the cam. This varying radius is biased against a leaf spring, thus varying the displacement of the one end of the lead spring depending on the location of the variable cam.

摘要： A spinning reel is provided with a line tension display unit including a display which may be either of analog or digital form. The reel includes a spool shaft for mounting of the spool, the reel body being provided with the line tension/display unit which includes a member swingable about the spool shaft and operatively connected to the spool shaft for swinging movement in response to tension in the line. A torsion spring resists such swinging movement. The swingable member causes the display to indicate the tension value. In analog form, the swingable member provides a pointer for showing line tension on a scale. In digital form, the display includes LED's or LCD's for display of discrete tension values. In one digital version, a microprocessor is used to drive the line tension display and to provide also time-of-day, stopwatch, alarm and line-breakage-warning functions.

摘要： A drag mechanism for a spinning reel includes a first friction plate supported non-rotatably to the spool shaft and a second friction plate disposed adjacent to the first friction plate and supported non-rotatably to the reel body. An adjusting knob is screwed with the reel body, such that the adjusting knob is rotatable relative to the reel body. The range of rotation of the adjusting knob relative to the reel body is restricted. The adjusting knob includes a spring holder for holding a drag spring which is interposed between the first and second friction plates and an initial load adjuster. The initial load adjuster is movable toward or away from the friction plates to adjust an initial rotational resistance load applied against rotation of the spool shaft by the adjusting knob. The initial load adjuster also includes a display means for displaying an indication of the initial load set by the initial load adjuster.
