Abstract:
A magnetic roll for use in roller pairs of a drafting system on a textile machine. Each magnetic roll includes a central pole member having a rare earth magnet positioned on either side thereof. An end pole member is provided adjacent each magnet, and a cot is provided next to each end pole member for gripping and propelling fibers between the roller pairs of the drafting system.
Abstract:
A magnetic cylinder for use in printing or die cutting has annular spaced-apart pole pieces with flexible or pliable annular magnets in the spaces between the pole pieces, a protective covering over the magnets and supports alongside the magnets for structurally supporting the protective covering.
Abstract:
Provided is a dipole ring magnetic field generator capable of generating a substantially unidirectional magnetic field in the internal space of a ring without using permanent magnet pieces having fan-shaped or trapezoidal sections, and as a result, a smaller skew angle therein is achieved. The sections of the permanent magnet pieces are shaped to be rectangular, and a plurality of the rectangular permanent magnet pieces are circularly placed at predetermined positions. Each of first, second, third and fourth permanent magnet units, which are main permanent magnet units, comprises five or more permanent magnet pieces. The first and third permanent magnet units, as well as the second and fourth permanent magnet units, are positioned oppositely from each other with respect to a central axis of the magnetic field generator and have hollow shapes or E-shapes facing against each other in a section perpendicular to the central axis.
Abstract:
A click mechanism includes a first magnetic body having a first protrusion, a second magnetic body having a second protrusion, and a magnet configured to magnetize at least one of the first magnetic body and the second magnetic body. The click mechanism is configured to, in accordance with input operation, move at least one of the first magnetic body and the second magnetic body relative to the other, and generate click sensation corresponding to the input operation using magnetic attractive force generated between the first protrusion and the second protrusion. The second magnetic body further has a third protrusion configured to generate magnetic attractive force between itself and the first protrusion and differing in shape from the second protrusion.
Abstract:
A mechanism for fixing together first and second parts and comprising first and second guides provided respectively in or attached to the first and second parts. The mechanism further comprises first and second magnetic components coupled respectively to the first and second guides such that the first magnetic component is rotatable with the first guide and the first part, and the second magnetic component cannot rotate relative to the second guide, the magnetic components being moveable axially and rotationally with respect to each other and having magnetic poles oriented such that rotation of said first magnetic component causes relative axial movement of the magnetic components between a locking position in which one of the magnetic components straddles the two guides and an unlocking position in which it does not straddle the two guides.
Abstract:
A radial anisotropic sintered magnet formed into a cylindrical shape includes a portion oriented in directions tilted at an angle of 30° or more from radial directions, the portion being contained in the magnet at a volume ratio in a range of 2% or more and 50% or less, and a portion oriented in radial directions or in directions tilted at an angle less than 30° from radial directions, the portion being the rest of the total volume of the magnet. The radial anisotropic sintered magnet has excellent magnet characteristics without occurrence of cracks in the steps of sintering and cooling for aging, even if the magnet has a shape of a small ratio between an inner diameter and an outer diameter.

Abstract:
A polar-anisotropic ring magnet having magnetization directions in alignment with its normal line at each magnetic pole position and in alignment with its tangential line at each middle position between adjacent magnetic poles, and having a substantially constant angle difference in a magnetization direction between adjacent elements, the elements being obtained by division at an equal angle pitch between the magnetic pole position and the middle position adjacent to the magnetic pole position.
Abstract:
A method of magnetizing a magnetic sheet, said method able to magnetize a roll sheet conveniently at a high speed and stably including the steps of bringing a cylindrical permanent magnet having N-poles and S-poles multipolar-magnetized alternately along its circumference into contact with one surface of a long magnetic sticking sheet having an axis of easy magnetization oriented in a sheet longitudinal direction so that the sheet longitudinal direction is orthogonal to a shaft of the permanent magnet and multipolar-magnetizing the magnetic sticking sheet along the axis of easy magnetization by rotating the cylindrical permanent magnet due to the magnetic sticking sheet being rolled up, wherein the angle of contact of the magnetic sticking sheet fed to the cylindrical permanent magnet is made 45° or less, and a magnetization apparatus used for the method.
Abstract:
A mold used to form a magnetic member includes a mold body having a mold opening, a mold support that supports the mold cavity, and a mold insert. The mold insert is disposed in the mold opening of the mold body to form a mold cavity. The mold insert is coated with a coating to protect the mold body from chemical attack and abrasive wear of the mold material. The coating comprises an electroless nickel layer formed on or over the mold insert, and a chromium nitride layer formed on or over the electroless nickel layer. The mold insert can be formed of beryllium-copper (BenullCu).
