Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a castor wheel assembly 1 fitted onto the underside of the frame of a shopping trolley. The wheel assembly 1 comprises a wheel 2 mounted to a wheel mount 4 and rotatable about its rotational axis 6. Locking means in the form of an engagement element 8 and an actuator element 10 is operatively coupled to the wheel mount 4 for releasably engaging a locking element 12 of the wheel mount 4 to restrict swivelling of the wheel 2 about a swivel axis S of the wheel mount 4. The wheel 2 is substantially freely rotatable about the swivel axis S when the wheel 2 is rotated in the reverse direction. Rotation of the wheel 2 in the reverse direction urges the actuator element into pressing engagement with the wheel driving the coupling portion of the engagement element away from the peripheral surface of the wheel for disengagement of the engagement element from the locking element. Engagement of the engagement element 8 and the locking element 12 is only effected when the wheel 2 is rotated in a forward direction to reduce the pressing engagement.

Abstract: A cup holder assembly for a stroller has a slider that is carried on and slidable along a part of the stroller frame between a stowed position and a deployed position. A cup receiving ring is carried on the slider and is movable between a stowed orientation and a deployed orientation. A support arm is carried on the slider and is movable between a stowed orientation and a deployed orientation. Part of the support arm extends beneath the cup receiving ring in the respective deployed orientations. When the cup receiving ring and the support arm are in the respective stowed orientations and the slider is in the stowed position the cup holder assembly is housed within a space in the stroller frame.

Abstract: A locking mechanism system for a caster or similar wheeled device. The subject caster or the like is provided with a wheel containing a plurality of detents or grooves that is mounted to a fork having an aperture. The locking mechanism is mounted to the fork such that a retractable locking pin may move in and out of the aperture. A slidable lever, containing an internal cam moves the spring biased locking pin between an unlocked and locked position such that the locking pin engages the wheel detents in the locked position, thus preventing the wheel from rotating.

Abstract: A stroller frame has a front, a back, and a ready for use configuration. The stroller frame includes a spine having a forward end, a rear end, an underside, and a top side. The spine is positioned generally along a center lengthwise axis of the stroller frame with the forward end coinciding with the front of the stroller frame and the rear end elevated above the forward end and coinciding with the back of the stroller frame.
