    摘要： According to the present invention there are provided method and apparatus for producing a simple printing plate having open cells, which method and apparatus area simple in construction and permit accurate and continuous production of the printing plate. More specifically, as the method there is provided a method of producing a simple printing plate having open cells by pressing both an embossing member having a relief image and a to-be-embossed member which is a sheet having open cells, in a heated state of the embossing member, allowing the relief image to be transferred to the to-be-embossed member, characterized in that the embossing member is attached to an embossing cylinder, the to-be-embossed member is attached to a to-be-embossed cylinder, one or both of the embossing cylinder and the to-be-embossed cylinder being in an arcuate form, and both cylinders are rotated in synchronism with each other, thereby pressing the embossing member and the to-be-embossed member in a rolling fashion.

    摘要： A flexible resilient printing plate adapted for use on a magnetic printing cylinder is formed by mixing a ferrous metal powder within a volume of liquid vinyl plastisol, casting the mixture onto a face layer of at least partially cured vinyl plastisol to form a base layer, and then heating the combined layers to cure the base layer and fuse it to the face layer to form a flexible multiple layer mold sheet. The base layer is shaved to provide the mold sheet with a substantially uniform thickness, and a porous fibrous impression mat is placed in contact with the face layer. The mat and mold sheet are heated and are placed within a diaphragm press with a porous cloth between the mold sheet and the diaphragm. The mold sheet is pressed into the mat to form a printing plate which is allowed to cool during the pressing operation. The mat and plate are magnetically retained on the bed for a shaver, and the base layer of the plate is shaved to produce a precise uniform caliper. After the printing plate is shaved and stripped from the porous mat, it is reheated until it relaxes. The reheated plate is placed on a drum having an outer diameter the same as the magnetic cylinder and is held in firm contact with the drum until the plate cools.

    摘要： An apparatus for manufacturing thermoplastic duplication plates having a relief image transcribed thereto from a matrix which has a relief pattern in complemental relation to the transcribed relief image. To this end, the apparatus includes a hollow cylinder heated to a predetermined temperature and by which a thermoplastic resin sheet is, while clinging thereto, transported towards a transcription clearance. A movable platen supported for movement between standby and operated positions cooperates with the hollow cylinder to define the transcription clearance. During the transportation of the thermoplastic resin sheet towards the transcription clearance, it becomes substantially semi-fluidized so that, during passage of the thermoplastic resin sheet together with the matrix carried by the platen being moved towards the operated position, the thermoplastic resin sheet penetrates deep into indentations in the matrix which define the relief pattern, thereby completing a thermoplastic duplication plate.
