A heavy object to be moved includes two transverse members extending between opposite legs. At least one of the transverse members has retractable arms. The heavy object is first lifted at one end by the brackets beneath one transverse member then the retractable arms are extended and the other end of the heavy object is lifted onto the pair of wheels. A removable set of auxiliary wheels assists in transporting the object to a new location.

摘要： A utility cart having a tool handle holding device for firmly holding the handle of a long handled lawn or garden tool to the side of the utility cart is disclosed. The device comprises one or more clips that are disposed below the rim of the bin of the utility cart. The cart and the clip(s) may be integrally molded from a suitable plastic material, such as high density polyethylene. Each clip is deformable within its elastic limit so that a tool handle may be insertingly forced into the clip wherein it is held within the clip, upon elastic contraction of the clip, by a tool retaining flange and a tool retaining lip. Removal of the tool handle from the clip is effected by removingly forcing the handle out of the clip whereupon the clip deforms sufficiently to allow the tool handle to pass between the tool retaining flange and the tool retaining lip. Upon removal of the handle from the clip, the clip then contracts to its pre-insertion, nondeformed condition.

摘要： A cross member is mounted to and extends between the handleshafts of a wheelbarrow at a location intermediate the material carrying bin of the wheelbarrow and the handles which are grasped by the laborer whereby the laborer grasping the handles can place the front of his thigh against the cross member to exert a force on the wheelbarrow to initiate lifting and forward movement of the wheelbarrow using his thigh muscles to reduce any strain on the arms, shoulders and/or back of the laborer. The cross member is a flexible strap which has mounting assemblies that is adjustable in length to permit the cross member to be mounted on wheelbarrows having differing spacings between the handleshafts.

The roller unit includes first and second arms that extend from the frame beyond the aft member, a buoyant roller, and bearings rotatably supporting the roller between the arms outboard of and parallel to the aft member. The handler unit includes third and fourth arms that extend from the frame beyond the fore member and a tubular handle member supported by the third and fourth arms outboard of the fore member. The frame carries a support surface and straps to support and retain tanks and other gear on the device.

摘要： The installation of precast concrete paving slabs as used in the construction of paths, patios and swimming pool decks involves heavy and cumbersome lifting, risk of injury to the worker's hands and, using conventional tools, a possibility of breaking and chipping slabs. The task is made more difficult by the close proximity of one slab to the next, a matter of particular significance when it is required to raise and reset an existing installation. In the present invention a wheeled hand barrow supporting a gripping means attached to the slab reduces the lifting load, eliminates dangerous handling, permits slabs to be gripped when closely laid and generally overcomes the aforesaid difficulties. Two flanged jaws, separated by the width of the slab, are hinged to a horizontal extensible beam and may be urged inwardly by an outward thrust imparted to their upper ends by a push rod operating in mutual opposition between the jaws. Tightening of the jaws is achieved by a cam integral with the push rod. By selective extension of the beam and the push rod to one of several lockable lengths, the correct jaw spacing for different standard sizes of paving slabs is provided. The slab is raised and moved by a wheeled hand barrow consisting of a two-bar frame joined by a wheel axle at one end and between the ends by a cross-bar from which the beam is pendulously suspended by a pair of hooked members extending vertically from the beam mid-distance between the jaws. The hooks in cooperation with a latch thereon, are retained in assembly with the barrow or selectivey detached therefrom to facilitate placing and removing the jaws from the slab. A vertically rotative lockable swivel joint is interposed between the beam and the hook to permit the slab to be gripped either longitudinally or transversely with respect to the barrow. The features embodied in the present invention specifically overcome the unique difficulties of installing precast paving slabs for which purpose existing manual tools and lifting or carrying devices are not efficacious.
