摘要： A cylinder lock includes two barrels (23, 37), a first (23) carrying tumblers (30) that abut internal shoulders (36) of the lock casing (2) to obstruct clockwise `unlocking` rotation only, and the second (37) carrying a single tumbler (43) which obstructs only counter-clockwise `locking` rotation by abutment with a shoulder (48) of a rear-end casing-cover (8). A key (5) inserted through a keyhole-defining assembly (11, 16, 21) withdraws the first-barrel tumblers (30) during initial clockwise turning from the insertion position, and the second-barrel tumbler (43) during initial counter-clockwise turning. Lost-motion coupling between the barrels (23, 37), provided by lug-in-slot (38, 39) interengagement, enables clockwise turning of the second barrel (37) with the key (5) relative to the first barrel (23) during withdrawal of the first-barrel tumblers (30), and corresponding counter-clockwise turning of the first barrel (23) relative to the second (37) during withdrawal of the second-barrel tumbler (43). Lug-in-slot coupling ( 22, 24) between the keyhole-defining assembly (11, 16, 21) and the first barrel (23) similarly allows initial slip for clockwise key-turning. A coiled spring (42) opposes resiliently second-barrel turning in both directions.

摘要： Simplified tumbler wheel construction including an outer gate ring and an inner drive ring wherein the two rings are mounted together in snap-lock fashion.The drive ring includes an undulated surface on its outer rim for mating engagement with an inner undulated surface on the mounting surface of the gate ring. The two rings are constructed of suitable resilient material resulting in passive biasing of the undulated surfaces together during normal operation. Adjustment of the drive ring relative the gate ring is accomplished by blocking rotation of the gate ring while applying a rotative force to the drive ring in excess of a predetermined amount to rotate the undulated surfaces relative each other against the resilient bias provided by the two rings. The amount of bias against rotation is controlled by an appropriately placed slot outward of the undulated surface on the gate ring to lower bias resistance to expansion during tumbler wheel adjustment.

A shoulder on a catch element carried by the door extends through a lock opening in the cabinet frame and engages the edge thereof to secure the door. A key of particular length moves the shoulder from the locked position to an intermediate position at which it can pass outwardly through the back opening. If the catch element is moved too far, a second shoulder engages the edge of the lock opening and the door cannot be opened.

摘要： A disc cylinder lock comprising a number of turnable locking discs, which by turning of the key of the lock are turned from a certain initial position to a position releasing the lock mechanism. In the central part of some of the locking discs, there is an opening comprising two portions between which there are at least two substantially radial steps. One of the portions of the central opening receives the key of the lock while the other, when the key is properly inserted in the lock mechanism, forms at the side of the key a free space with a curved border, into which the key does not move in any of the functional phases of the lock. In front of the last mentioned locking discs, there is at least one other turnable element, for instance another type of locking disc, which has also, in its central part, an opening for the key. This opening is so formed that its border, at the point where its distance from the turning axis of the locking discs is the smallest, is located on the turning axis, in its immediate vicinity, or at the same side of the turning axis as the opposite border of the opening.

摘要： The key plug of a lock pin tumbler cylinder is equipped with one or more side pins, each of which is in cam relation to one or two tumblers so that the tumblers when moving by their spring pressure to a locking position will cause the side pins to project beyond a side of the key plug. Moreover, each side pin is in cam relation to the cylinder body so as to be pressed toward a tumbler when the key plug tends to rotate. The side pins do not contribute a part of the lock combination, but will move a limited amount only into a side bore in the cylinder whereby to dog the key plug against rotating movement. Picking torque that may be applied to the key plug then will be transferred through the side pins to the cylinder. Also, a tumbler or coacting side pin alternately will move into a portion of the keyway during an attempt to pick the tumblers.
