    摘要: In a liquid crystal display that includes a second substrate that supports a liquid crystal and data lines formed on the surface of the second substrate, a third insulating layer that covers the data lines is formed on the surface of the second substrate. On the surface of the third insulating layer, chip connecting wiring is formed over a covered region covered with a sealing material and the liquid crystal and the region other than the covered region. By connecting the chip connecting wiring to the data lines via contact holes formed within the covered region of the third insulating layer, corrosion of the wiring formed on the substrate is inhibited.

    摘要: A flexible substrate mounting the light sources thereon realizes a shape which can eliminate a largely projecting portion and a liquid crystal display device which uses such a flexible substrate is obtained. A strip-like portion is formed by providing an elongated cut in a flexible substrate and light sources are mounted on the strip-like portion. Due to such a constitution, the strip-like portion mounting the light sources 5 thereon has a shape which is substantially arranged parallel to the shape of the main portion 8 which occupies a most portion of the flexible substrate land hence, it is possible to eliminate a largely projecting portion. Then, the light sources 5 are arranged such that the strip-like portion is folded back at least once such that light from the light sources is incident on a light guide body 4.

    摘要: Right end portions of upper half lines in the scanning signal lines are connected to a semiconductor integrated circuit device via leading lines provided on a right side thereof, and left end portions of lower half lines in the scanning signal lines are connected to a semiconductor integrated circuit device via leading lines provided on a left side thereof. Therefore, the size of a liquid crystal display device in a widthwise direction thereof can be reduced. Also, since crossing points of the leading lines connected to the scanning signal lines are arranged outside the right side edge portion and a left side edge portion of a light shielding film, such a drawback can be prevented from occurring that ionic impurities eluted from the sealing member due a potential difference between the leading lines and the light shielding film corrode the leading lines.

    摘要: In a display module of the present invention, a light guide plate, having a cross sectional slope with respect to a display surface of a liquid crystal panel, is provided face to face behind the liquid crystal panel. Source TCPs and gate COFs, which are connected to the liquid crystal panel so as to make a right angle with each other, are respectively so extended as to reach to the back surface of the light guide plate. Around the liquid crystal driver IC, the TCP has signal input lines for inputting signals to the liquid crystal driver IC, first signal-output lines for feeding output signals of the liquid crystal driver IC to the liquid crystal panel, second signal-output lines for feeding the output signals of the liquid crystal driver IC to the adjacent TCP, power supply lines for driving the liquid crystal driver IC, and counter-electrode lines for feeding counter-electrode signals to the liquid crystal panel. The two counter-electrode lines are electrically connected to each other by means of a jumper chip. The wirings of the TCP are connected with the corresponding electrode terminals of the liquid crystal panel in a belt-shaped terminal connection area.

    摘要: Connection wires connecting signal wires and element-side terminals on a substrate are formed with a plurality of first parts and second parts as connection parts having predetermined widths. Further, by adjusting thicknesses of the plurality of connection parts of the connection wires, or by forming lamination wires on the first parts as the connection parts so as to attain multi-layer structures, the connection wires are arranged so as to have substantially uniform resistances. This allows a difference between a width of the broadest connection wire and a width of the narrowest connection wire to be suppressed so that the former is approximately twice the latter. Consequently, short-circuiting of a broad connection wire and wire-breaking of a narrow wire can be avoided, while the resistances of the connection wires can be made uniform.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display is provided with respective signal lines and a semiconductor chip. Respective output bumps of the semiconductor chip are connected to corresponding respective signal lines through ax anisotropic conductive layer. The respective output bumps include a first group of output bumps which are arranged at a side close to the signal lines and a second group of output bumps which are arranged at a side remote from the signal lines. The area of respective bumps of the second group of output bumps which face the signal lines in an opposed manner is set larger than the area of respective bumps of the first group of output bumps which face the signal lines in an opposed manner. Due to such a constitution, a reliable connection between the mounted semiconductor integrated circuit and the signal lines is ensured.
