    摘要: In a case where EGR is started in a supercharging region, an opening degree of a waste gate valve (17) is changed at a timing T1 at which an EGR ratio in a first predetermined position changes by valve open of an EGR control valve (21). In a case where EGR is started in a non-supercharging region, a throttle valve (5) is changed at a timing T2 at which an EGR ratio in a second predetermined position changes by valve open of the EGR control valve (21). With these controls, it is possible to suppress an occurrence of torque step upon start of the EGR without distinction between the supercharging region and the non-supercharging region.

    摘要: In an internal combustion engine, a valve actuating mechanism actuates an intake valve member to open an intake port, and actuates an exhaust valve member to return a first part of exhaust gas with a high-temperature from a gas exhaust passage into a combustion chamber via an exhaust port. A cooling and recirculation system recirculates a second part of the exhaust gas from the gas exhaust passage into the gas intake passage via a recirculation passage while cooling the second part of the exhaust gas. This results in a stratified temperature distribution of a high-temperature mixture of first fresh air and the first part of the exhaust gas with the high temperature and a low-temperature mixture of second fresh air and the second part of the exhaust gas with a low temperature in the combustion chamber.

    摘要: A turbocharger assembly includes a compressor assembly, a turbine wheel, a shaft, a bearing assembly, and a cooling gas conduit. The compressor assembly includes a compressor impeller. The compressor impeller includes an outermost impeller edge and has a maximum cross-sectional dimension at the outermost impeller edge. The shaft interconnects the compressor impeller and the turbine wheel. The bearing assembly surrounds at least a portion of the shaft. The cooling gas conduit is disposed in fluid communication with the compressor assembly and the bearing assembly. At least a portion of the cooling gas conduit is disposed adjacent the outermost impeller edge such that the cooling gas conduit is configured to receive a portion of intake gases flowing along the outermost impeller edge and guide the portion of the intake gases toward the bearing assembly to cool the bearing assembly.

    摘要: The present invention makes it possible to accurately determine an EGR rate from an in-cylinder pressure. An EGR rate determination method for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention, a combustion period is calculated by using in-cylinder pressure data measured by an in-cylinder pressure sensor. An in-cylinder flame velocity is then calculated from the combustion period. Next, in accordance with prepared data indicative of the influence of an engine speed on the flame velocity, a portion of the flame velocity calculated from the combustion period that is affected by the engine speed is eliminated. Eventually, a current EGR rate is determined from the flame velocity from which the portion affected by the engine speed is eliminated.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine has first and second non-deactivatable cylinder banks. Each cylinder bank is assigned exhaust lines which extend from exhaust manifolds. First and second exhaust-gas turbocharger in the exhaust line are assigned to the first and second cylinders, respectively. A first catalytic converter in the first exhaust line contains the first exhaust-gas turbocharger, and is arranged downstream of the first exhaust-gas turbocharger as viewed in the flow direction of the exhaust gas of the first cylinder bank. A second catalytic converter in the second exhaust line contains the second exhaust-gas turbocharger, and is arranged downstream of the second exhaust-gas turbocharger as viewed in the flow direction of the exhaust gas of the second cylinder bank. A flow transfer line is arranged between the first and the second exhaust line, and a first control element, by an exhaust-gas mass flow passing through the flow transfer line can be regulated.
