    摘要: A control system for one or more hydraulically driven crane winch drums each having a hydraulically actuated clutch and a brake. Included is a negative braking mechanism having a brake cylinder of the single-acting, spring-return type for normally holding the brake applied by the force of the spring and releasing the brake on fluid pressure actuation. A mode selector valve selectively delivers hydraulic fluid under pressure from two separate sources to the clutch and the brake cylinder in order to condition the winch for a selected one of winching, brake-locking, and free-fall modes. The mode selector valve causes the negative braking mechanism to release the brake in the free-fall mode, so that a positive braking mechanism is also provided to permit the operator to arrest the free fall of the load, or the free running-out of the cable, in an exact position desired.

    摘要: A steering brake and clutch control for a crawler vehicle includes a pair of primary control levers, each of which, when operated by itself, acts through a spring to first effect disengagement of normally pressure-engaged clutch and then through a linkage to effect engagement of a brake. The clutch control levers are interconnected so that simultaneous actuation of the primary control levers results in both brakes being engaged without the clutches being disengaged. A pair of brake control levers have respective one-way connections with the pair of primary control levers and are spring-biased for simultaneously actuating the primary control levers to effect brake engagement. A pressure-operated plunger assembly is operative to maintain the brake control levers away from the primary control levers so long as sufficient hydraulic system pressure exists for normal operation.

    摘要: Clutch-brake steering unit having hydraulically actuated cylinders which are adapted for controlling same to control rotation of a track-drive sprocket in a crawler tractor, and which are under control of a clutch-brake steering valve mechanism. A bore in the valve is common to and receives both an independently slidable hydropotentiometer spool precisely providing a master setting pressure, and an independently slidable metering spool providing a single pressure signal always hydraulically matched with the precise master setting pressure. A clutch cylinder and a brake cylinder provided in the unit have an inlet-outlet port in common, and are so arranged on a spring-applied-brake, hydraulically-applied-clutch basis that the generated single pressure signal when applied to the inlet-outlet port alternately operates the cylinders to apply the brake and release the clutch, or to release the brake and apply the clutch, or by proper modulation to partially engage either, i.e., slip the clutch or drag the brake to intermediate degrees as desired.

    摘要: A multi-speed hydrostatic drive is disclosed. The drive comprises the combination of a drive unit having at least one output connectable to a motive member and at least first and second inputs. A clutch unit is connected to the first drive unit input, and a first fixed displacement hydraulic motor is connected to the clutch unit so as to drive the drive unit first input through the clutch when the clutch is engaged. A brake unit is connected to the second drive unit input. A second fixed displacement hydraulic motor is connected to the brake unit so as to drive the drive unit second input when the brake is disengaged. A variable displacement hydraulic pump is also provided. A hydraulic circuit delivers the pressurized fluid to the first and to the second hydraulic motors to provide a relatively low speed, high torque drive. Alternatively, the hydraulic circuit can be set to deliver pressurized fluid to the second motor only to provide a relatively high speed, low torque drive to the motive member.

    摘要: A hydraulically operated control arrangement for a transmission includes a spring-loaded pressure regulating valve which slides into a position to cut off an exit chamber for hydraulic fluid from an input chamber for pressurized hydraulic fluid so as to route the incoming hydraulic fluid exclusively to the transmission for various control and lubricating functions when hydraulic fluid pressure in the input chamber falls below a first threshold value. Hydraulic fluid applied to the input chamber continues to feed a first plurality of functions within the transmission via the input chamber and a second plurality of functions in the transmission via an intermediate chamber disposed between the input and exit chambers and in communication with the pressure regulating valve until such time as the hydraulic fluid pressure at the input chamber drops below a second threshold value so as to permit the pressure regulating valve to cut off the intermediate chamber from the input chamber. Loss of hydraulic fluid pressure also causes movement of a power takeoff control lever to the disengaged or off position through the action of a power takeoff control valve which operates a detent arrangement and movement of a planetary control lever into a low position through the action of a high-low control valve.
