摘要： Provided are a method and apparatus for managing resource access privileges of an application in a Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) Open Service Gateway Initiative (OSGi) environment. The method includes executing the application in a thread having a unique thread identifier, identifying the application by mapping the unique thread identifier with an application identifier from a mapping table, examining a security policy to determine the kind of resource access privileges the identified application has, and allowing or not allowing, according to the examination result, the application to access the resources. Accordingly, when an application tries to access resources in a device, access privileges of the application can be managed so that the application does not maliciously access the resources.

摘要： Provided are a method and apparatus for managing resources of a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) device based on a connection status of a control point. The method of managing resources of a controlled device includes: monitoring an invocation of an action representing a connection of a control point for a predetermined time; determining whether the control point is connected to the controlled device or not by considering whether the monitored action is invoked or not; and increasing available resources by selectively deactivating an application which is controlled by the control point according to the determination result. Accordingly, the resources of the UPnP device can be effectively managed.

摘要： A method and apparatus for synchronizing a content directory service (CDSs) of a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) device. In the method, a CDS, whose content is modified, generates an event message containing information of the modification of the content, and multicasts the event message to a UPnP network. Other CDSs that receive the event message update their content based on the event message. Accordingly, a control point is not required to initiate and does not intervene in a process of synchronizing a plurality of CDSs, thereby reducing load on a memory or a central processing unit (CPU) of the control point, compared to conventional UPnP synchronization of devices. Further, an action of a CDS need not be repeatedly called, thereby reducing network traffic.
