Abstract: An oral care implement including a handle and a replacement head that is detachably coupled to the handle. The handle may include a gripping portion extending from a proximal end to a distal end and a stem extending from the distal end of the gripping portion. The stem may have an inner cavity. A vibratory element including a motor and an eccentric may be partially located in the stem. The eccentric may have a first end that is operably coupled to the motor and a second end opposite the first end, the second end having an aperture therein. A guide pin may be fixed to the stem such that a first portion of the guide pin protrudes into the inner cavity of the stem. The first portion of the guide pin may extend through the aperture in the second end of the eccentric.

Abstract: An oral care implement including a handle and a replacement head that is detachably coupled to the handle. The replacement head may include a head portion and a sleeve portion. The head portion may have a front surface with tooth cleaning elements extending therefrom. The sleeve portion may have a cavity configured to receive a stem of the handle and a proximal edge defining an opening into the cavity. Furthermore, the sleeve portion may be formed from a first component formed of a rigid material and a second component formed of a resilient material. The first component of the sleeve portion may include a locking element that is configured to mate with a locking feature of the stem to couple the replacement head to the handle. A portion of the second component may cover the locking element so that no portion of the locking element is exposed.

Abstract: A powered toothbrush head that, in one embodiment, includes a head portion including a first movable tuft block configured for holding tooth cleaning elements. The first movable tuft block is operably connected to a motor-driven drift shaft for movement. An eccentric cam formed on the shaft drives the first movable tuft block via engagement with a slot formed in the body of the first movable tuft block. The first movable tuft block is movable in a combination oscillating motion comprising vertical motion and lateral pivoting or tilting motion upon rotation of the drive shaft. A related method for oscillating the first movable tuft block is disclosed.

Abstract: A powered toothbrush apparatus with capacitive touch control is disclosed. The tooth brush includes a head portion having an oscillating tuft block driven by a motor, a handle portion, and an elastically deformable capacitive touch control panel mounted in the handle portion. In one embodiment, the control panel includes a plurality of capacitance sensor buttons each having movable sensor targets paired with a corresponding capacitance sensor electrically connected to a programmable microprocessor. Applying finger pressure on the control panel adjacent a sensor target changes capacitance of the sensor button. The microprocessor detects the change in capacitance, which controls the operating mode of the toothbrush including on/off, motor speed, brushing mode such as pulse, or other. A related operating method is disclosed.

Abstract: An oral care refill head and an oral care kit comprising the same. The oral care refill head may include a sleeve portion, a head portion, and an elastomeric prophy cup. The sleeve portion may have an inner surface that defines an internal cavity for receiving a portion of a stem of an oral care implement handle therein so that the oral care refill head can be repetitively attached to and detached from the oral care implement handle. The elastomeric prophy cup may comprise an outer surface that forms at least a portion of a peripheral side surface of the head portion. The elastomeric prophy cup may be formed by injection molding an elastomeric material onto a support portion of the head portion. The oral care refill head may be packaged together with a store of an anti-sensitivity oral care material to form a kit.

Abstract: An oral cavity treatment device which may include a mouthpiece and a power cord which extends from the mouthpiece to a plug. The power cord may be coupled to an electronic device, such as a phone or computer, to provide power to the oral cavity treatment device. The mouthpiece may include a lamp having light emitters on a flexible sheet and a lens member covering the lamp. The light emitters may be provided in staggered rows to ensure adequate tooth coverage during use. The lens may include bite protrusions positioned on opposing ends of the lens. The lens may be incredibly flexible to accommodate any mouth shape. There may be a control unit with a power button and processor located at a position along the power cord that is closer to the plug than to the mouthpiece for enhanced comfort.
