    摘要: A display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display apparatus, includes a display panel having scanning lines and data lines arranged in a matrix form, and a driver for applying scanning signals and data signals to the scanning lines and data lines, respectively, so as to display a picture on the display panel. The driver includes a plurality of data line drivers disposed so as to apply data signals to the data lines, and a picture data transfer controller for transferring picture data for one scanning line drive period to the plurality of data line drivers. The picture data transfer controller further includes a supplier for supplying a signal for setting a period for intermission of picture data transfer during a period for transferring the picture data for one scanning line drive period to the plurality of data lines. As a result, the processing load on the picture data transfer controller can be reduced, and a cascade connection between data line drivers leading to a mal-operation due to noise can be alleviated.

    摘要: A display apparatus is constituted to have a multiplicity of pixels each divided into at least two sub-pixels having mutually different areas including a larger sub-pixel having a larger area and a smaller sub-pixel having a smaller area. Each sub-pixel is provided with a transparent electrode and a low-resistivity conductor connected to the transparent electrode, and the low-resistivity conductor for the larger sub-pixel is set to have a lower resistance than the low-resistivity conductor for the smaller sub-pixel. As a result, a pixel switching characteristic can be uniformized over an entire picture area of the display apparatus regardless of different areas (loads) of the sub-pixels and without using different performances of drivers.

    摘要: A chapter information creation apparatus calculates, from field-of-view information, a position of a video image having a narrow field of view whose ratio to the size of a field of view of a video image having the widest field of view, among a plurality of hierarchically-encoded video images, is less than or equal to a threshold value. Chapter information is then created if a moved distance over a fixed period is greater than or equal to a threshold value. Chapter information is created for other video images if, based on a result of analyzing the video image having widest field of view, a change in that video image is detected. Chapter information for the video image of each layer included in video image data obtained by hierarchically encoding video images having different fields of view can thereby be created using a simple method.
