摘要: A radiation detector including a scintillator structure comprising a first plane and a second plane which are not positioned on the same plane, the scintillator structure having an optical waveguiding property in a direction between the first plane and the second plane; and a two-dimensional light receiving element formed of multiple pixels which are disposed parallel to either one of the first plane and the second plane. The radiation detector includes at least one smoothness-deteriorate region which is positioned in one of the first plane and the second plane of the scintillator structure and has an area of 1/6 or more of a light receiving area of each of the multiple pixels. The region is repaired by an optically transparent material so as to be smoothed.

摘要: Pieces of working information on workloads, positions of the workloads, pieces of environmental information on cooling facilities, and positions of the cooling facilities are stored as arrangement information. The pieces of working information on the workloads are estimated, and allocation of tentative workloads is deduced for fear the pieces of working information may exceed the performances of a group of information processing devices. Tentative power consumptions and arrangement information resulting from the allocation of the tentative workloads, and tentative power consumptions and arrangement information necessary for the allocation of the tentative workloads are calculated. Tentative cooling powers required to control the cooling facilities are calculated. Allocation of the tentative workloads minimizing the sum total of the tentative power consumptions of the information processing devices and the tentative cooling powers of the cooling facilities is searched. Based on the searched allocation, the workloads are allocated to the information processing devices.

摘要: In a computer room including information processing devices and air conditioners, power saving of the computer room by means of optimization of workload allocation to the information processing devices is achieved in a short time. There, a coefficient of air conditioner performance with respect to the information processing device (device-specific COP) is calculated for each air conditioner. Further, a device-associated power consumption expression representing a total of device power and air conditioner power is created for each information processing device. Also, power consumption of the entire computer room is calculated from the device-associated power consumption expression of the information processing devices. Also, workload allocation is determined by using power saving performance evaluation indexes based on the device-associated power consumption expression of the information processing devices. Further, output of the air conditioner is controlled based on a result of the air conditioner power calculation.

摘要: A position detector includes a photodetector having photodetecting elements; and a scintillator crystal having uniaxial optical anisotropy. The scintillator crystal is continuous in a uniaxial direction, is disposed on the photodetector such that the uniaxial direction is not perpendicular to the normal to a photodetecting surface, and has a length at least three times the pitch of the photodetecting elements. The uniaxial anisotropy allows at least 4% of scintillation light emitted from a region farthest above the photodetecting surface to reach the photodetecting elements, and allows from 4% to 35% of scintillation light emitted from a region closest to the photodetecting surface to reach the photodetecting elements.

摘要: A semiconductor device or an information processing system comprises a plurality of circuit units, and a control unit for controlling a start timing of large-current operations executed by the respective circuit units within a predetermined period, where the large-current operation involves a relatively large current which flows in a power supply system, as compared with other operations. The control unit controls the start timing of the large-current operation from one circuit unit to another such that the waveform of a current flowing from the power supply system is shaped into the waveform of a half cycle of a sinusoidal wave when the circuit units execute large-current operations within the predetermined period.
