摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a first electrode and a second electrode formed on the first substrate, the second electrode being arranged at an upper layer with respect to the first electrode, a drain signal line and a gate signal line formed on the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer driven by an electric field formed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The first electrode extends in parallel to the drain signal line and the second electrode extends at a slanted direction to the drain signal line.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates sandwiching of a liquid crystal layer, plural scanning signal lines and plural video signal lines formed on one of the pair of substrates, and plural pixel regions formed as an area surrounded by an adjacent two of the plural scanning signal lines and an adjacent two of the plural video signal lines. At least a pixel electrode is formed on the one of the pair of substrates in each of the pixel regions, a plurality of counter electrodes is formed on one of the pair of substrates in each of the pixel regions, and at least a counter voltage signal line connects the counter electrodes formed on one of the pair of substrates. The counter voltage signal line is arranged in an overlapping relation with at least one of the scanning signal lines in plan view.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device including a first substrate and a second substrate having a liquid crystal composition layer disposed therebetween, a black matrix formed on at least one of the first substrate and the second substrate, and a video signal line formed between a face of the first substrate and a face of the liquid crystal composition layer. At least one pixel electrode is formed at each of pixels adjoining each other through the video signal line and fed with a selected video signal through the video signal line, and at least one counter electrode is fed with a counter voltage. An optical transmissivity of the liquid crystal composition layer is controlled by an electric field component which is generated between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode. One of the counter electrodes of the individual pixels is positioned at opposite sides of the video signal line, and the black matrix is formed over the video signal line. The black matrix has a widthwise contour which extends at least as far as the counter electrodes positioned adjacent to the opposite sides of the video signal line.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device including a liquid crystal composition layer having twistable liquid crystal molecules, a first substrate and a second substrate having the liquid crystal composition layer disposed therebetween, a video signal line formed on a face of the first substrate. At least one pixel electrode is fed with a video signal through the video signal line, and at least one counter electrode fed with a counter voltage, the pixel electrode and the counter electrode being opposed to each other. The twisting extent of the liquid crystal moles is controlled by an electric field component which is generated between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode. A spacing between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode arranged to oppose each other is larger than a width of at least one of the pixel electrode and the counter electrode and smaller than a spacing between the pixel electrode and the video signal line.

摘要： The liquid crystal display device has a plurality of pixel elements, the optical transmissivity of which is varied by suitable electrical signals. The liquid crystal display device has electrodes which apply electric fields to a liquid crystal layer, the electric fields having components in a direction generally parallel to the liquid crystal layer. Each pixel element has at least one pixel electrode which extends in a common direction as signal electrodes and common electrodes which extend over several pixel elements. The common electrodes may be on the same side of the liquid crystal layer as the pixel and signal electrodes, or they may be on opposite sides. Each pixel may have two pixel electrodes with the signal electrode therebetween and there are then a pair of common electrodes with the pixel electrodes therebetween. The common electrodes may be common to adjacent pixel elements. The pixel electrodes and the common electrodes may be separated by an insulating film.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device having suitable structures for avoiding the decline in the yield factor for production thereof by preventing signal lines formed therein from being disconnected. A liquid crystal display device has a pair of substrates confronting one another and being spaced by a liquid crystal layer and at least one first signal line, a first insulating film, at least one second signal line, and a second insulating film being formed above a surface of one of the pair of substrates. The at least one first signal line and the at least one second signal line are arranged so as to cross one another at a crossing region, where the at least one first signal line, the first insulating film, the at least one second signal line, and the second insulating film are disposed in this order from the surface of the one of the pair of the substrates. The second insulating film has a pair of openings piercing therethrough at both sides of the crossing region and a conductive layer is formed thereon. The conductive layer crosses over the at least one first signal line and electrically connected to the at least one second signal line via the pair of openings at both sides of the crossing region.
