摘要: A projection type display apparatus including a heater for heating the liquid crystal light valve. The heater includes a transparent electrically conductive film formed on a transparent substrate and is supplied with electric power therethrough to generate heat. The supplied electric power is controlled in accordance with the temperature of the liquid crystal light valve so that the liquid crystal layer in the liquid crystal light valve is in its optimum operating temperature range. The heater may include a filter through which the illumination luminous flux is incident upon the liquid crystal light valve. The filter passes only visible light when inclined within a certain range of angle with the luminous flux, and passes a progressively large amount of heat rays with increasing deviation of the angle from the certain range. A cold mirror and reflecting mirror may be used in place of the filter. The cold mirror reflects visible light of the illumination luminous flux to the liquid crystal light valve and passes heat rays to the reflecting mirror. The reflecting mirror is at an angle with the heat rays and reflects the heat rays to the liquid crystal light valve. The amount of the heat rays reflected to the liquid crystal light valve may be adjusted by varying the angle at which the heat rays is incident on the reflecting mirror.

摘要: An optical head device includes a tilt servo mechanism using photodetectors for detecting rays of light reflected from the recording surface of an optical disk. The rays of light are obtained from a laser diode used as a light source for information reproduction. According to one aspect; prisms are formed on the flange of a converging lens to refract peripheral portions of the light emitted from the laser diode for tilt detection. According to another aspect, secondary diffraction grating domains at the sides of the primary diffraction domain of a diffraction grating diffract peripheral portions of the emitted rays of light for tilt detection. According to another aspect, a mirror reflects peripheral portions of the emitted rays from the laser diode. According to a further aspect a mirror reflects the light from the laser diode passing through a beam splitter. Each photodetector receiving the light reflected from the recording surface of the disk may be partitioned into two detector cells, and a tilt signal is obtained as the differential output of the two cells.

摘要: An automatic focusing device for controlling the position of the objective lens relative to the information recording medium is provided with an astigmatic optical system which receives the reflected light beam reflected by the information recording medium. The light receiving surface of a light detector included in the astigmatic optical system consists of a central light receiving section formed approximatley symmetrically with respect to two axes intersecting each other perpendicularly and having a constricted central portion, and two side light receiving sections formed approximately symmetrically with respect to those two axes and opposite to each other. The light reception signal given by the central light receiving section and the light reception signals given by the side light receiving sections are fed to a focal position detecting circuit which gives a signal corresponding to the deviation of the objective lens from the focused position, on the basis of the light reception signals given thereto.

摘要: A transmission screen has a refraction total reflection Fresnel lens plate, a stray light eliminating plate, and an image display plate. The stray light eliminating plate has a condensing lens array and black stripes. The array has unit lenses arranged at an incident plane of the transparent substrate in a periodic structure in an up-and-down direction. The black stripes have transparent sections placed near condensing light points of the unit lens and opaque sections around the condensing light points of the unit lenses. The sections are alternately arranged at the outgoing plane of the transmission substrate in a periodic structure in an up-and-down direction. The image display plate has lenticular lenses in which unit lenses are arranged in a periodic structure in a horizontal direction at an incident plane of the transmission substrate of a scattering characteristic capable of scattering light fluxes.
