摘要： A broadcast program is recorded into an accumulation unit 11 in accordance with a timer recording set by a user. Next, the user provides an instruction to perform fast playback of the program. An AV analyzing unit 12 analyzes video and audio signals of the recorded program. Next, a speed determining unit 13 determines reproduction speeds of the video and audio signals constituting the program based on a result of the analysis. The audio reproduction speed converting unit 14 and the video reproduction speed converting unit 15 performs fast playback of the video and audio signals based on the determined reproduction speeds.

摘要： An apparatus for transforming an input signal having a time length L into an output signal having a time length .alpha.L in accordance with a given time-scale modification ratio .alpha., including a correlator for calculating a value of a correlation function between a first signal and a second signal having a time length T and for determining a time delay T.sub.c at which the value of the correlation function becomes the greatest; an adder for adding the first signal multiplied by a first window function to the second signal multiplied by a second window function with a displacement of the time delay T.sub.c ; and an outputting circuit for selectively outputting the output of the adder and a third signal succeeding the output of the adder so that the sum of a time length of the output of the adder and a time length of the third signal is substantially equal to a time length defined by the time-scale modification ratio .alpha., the time delay T.sub.c and the time length T.

摘要： A digital signal recording apparatus includes: a level encoder for encoding a digital signal into the first to N-th level data, N being an integer greater than 1; a solid state memory having a data storage area and an auxiliary information storage area, the data storage area being writable for the first to N-th level data; and a write controller for, when the writable area in the data storage area is exhausted, freeing at least a part of an area in the data storage area in which level data other than the first level data is stored, for storing level data including at least the first level data into the freed area in the data storage area, and for storing auxiliary information indicating attributes of the stored level data into the auxiliary information storage area.
