Abstract:
A system that receives nanomaterials, forms nanofibrous materials therefrom, and collects these nanofibrous materials for subsequent applications. The system is coupled to a chamber that generates nanomaterials, typically carbon nanotubes produced from chemical vapor deposition, and includes a mechanism for spinning the nanotubes into yarns or tows. Alternatively, the system includes a mechanism for forming non-woven sheets from the nanotubes. The system also includes components for collecting the formed nanofibrous materials. Methods for forming and collecting the nanofibrous materials are also provided.
Abstract:
A desk assembly and method of manufacturing the desk assembly. The desk assembly includes a frame supporting a top assembly. The frame includes two or more leg portions telescopically coupled to one another such that the top assembly is height adjustable. The top assembly is formed from a plastic molded base bonded to a high pressure laminate sheet to form a seamless panel. The seamless panel is straighted from a deformed state during the manufacturing process to a flat surface by adhering the panel to a substrate with adhesive and pressure. The top assembly may include an angled portion set off by a flowing arc to increase user comfort. The desk assembly may include a chair assembly integrally formed with the frame and one or more semi-transparent modesty panels.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a contact lens package containing a contact lens in a compressed state. In one exemplary embodiment, the overall internal depth of the package is less than the natural sagittal depth of the contact lens. Different single-use contact lens package shapes and configurations may be used. In some embodiments, a spring disc is included in the packages to help present the contact lens to the user when the package is opened. The contact lens packages may be adhered or clipped to a card or other carrier sheet, and may be housed in a number of different secondary packages.
Abstract:
A synthetic grass assembly for installation on a supporting soil substrate includes a pile fabric with a flexible sheet backing and rows of upstanding synthetic ribbons representing grass blades, extending upwardly from an upper surface of the backing. An infill layer of two distinct graded courses of particulate material is disposed interstitially between the upstanding ribbons upon the upper surface of the backing and of a depth less than the length of the ribbons. A bottom course of intermixed hard sand and resilient rubber granules with substantially identical particle size distribution characteristics is installed upon the backing and a top course exclusively of resilient rubber granules is placed upon the bottom course.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a gas barrier packaging laminate (10) having durability to stress crack formation and yet a bending stiffness and good integrity between the laminate layers, comprising outer layers of heat-sealable polyolefin (16, 17), two polymer carrier layers (11, 12) each being coated with a SiOx gas barrier layer (13, 14), wherein the two polymer carrier layers with SiOx layers are laminated to each other by means of an intermediate polymer layer (15), which includes a thermoplastic polymer having high elastomeric properties. The required stiffness of the packaging laminate is obtained by forming a structural sandwich construction with two stiff carrier layers separated by a relatively thick lower density intermediate layer. Preferably, the thickness of the intermediate polymer layer (15) constitutes from about 30 to about 55% of the total thickness of the packaging laminate (10). The invention also relates to a packaging container such as a pouch or similar manufactured from the packaging laminate and to a method of manufacturing of the packaging laminate.
Abstract:
An apparatus for producing a durable and high strength laminated material. In this apparatus, a layer of base material and a layer of web material are laminated and bound with a water-based adhesive to form a new material. During lamination, both base and web materials are concurrently fed into a pair of rollers to effect cold lamination to yield a continuous laminated sheeting. The laminated sheeting emerged from the combining rollers is capable of being cut, sewn or glued and can be used as raw material to produce durable and reusable laminated boxes, gift bags, gift wraps, scrapbooks, covers, shower curtains, etc.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of reducing emission of an aldehyde from a wood based product comprising applying at least one surface of a layer with one or more polymers containing a primary amine group. The invention further relates to a wood based product.
Abstract:
An article of manufacture, apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for providing degradation-resistant expandable tubing. Degradation resistance is supplied by integrally bonding a degradation resistant liner of similar expansion capacities to the expandable tubing.
Abstract:
Composite higher temperature needlefelts manufactured by needle punching webs of staple fibers into a layer of woven fiberglass scrim to generate structural integrity superior to needlefelts of the staple fibers of equivalent weight and less particulate emission than woven fiberglass fabric of equivalent weight when used for filtration applications.
