    摘要: A high efficiency marine alternator system employs a marine engine flywheel as a rotor in an alternator. The rotor has a cup-shaped portion defined by an outer circular wall, and wherein a stator is received within the cup-shaped portion. The rotor is formed of a one-piece net ductile iron casting by the lost foam process. Magnets are mounted on an inner surface of the circular wall such that as the rotor rotates, the magnets move past pole faces of the stator. A starter motor ring gear is mounted on an outer surface of the circular outer wall. By minimizing a thickness of the outer circular wall on which the magnets are directly mounted and by direct mounting of the magnets on an inner surface of the outer wall, for a given diameter of the rotor/flywheel, the rotor magnets can be mounted at a maximum radius from a central rotational axis of the rotor, thus increasing linear velocity of the magnets as they move past the rotor faces, and improving efficiency of the alternator. Additionally, in conjunction with the high efficiency alternator, a Hall effect device timing system is provided together with a high efficiency charging system.

An alternator having a rotor with at least one magnet thereon and a stator in close proximity to the rotor has at least one alternator coil and at least one power coil. A regulating and charging device connects an output of the alternator coil to a system battery for delivering a regulated voltage to the system battery for charging thereof. Preferably, the charging and regulating means comprises a full wave SCR rectifier, gate inputs of which are controlled by voltage derived from the power coil.

The attachment includes a radially extending leg portion, on which a generator coil is wound, a cross bar portion and a flange adapted to be attached to one of the poles of the magneto core. By this construction, the pole of the magneto to which the flange is attached is integrated into a magnetic flux path with the radially extending leg and cross bar portion of the attachment.

    摘要: An ignition system for a small internal combustion engine is energized by an alternator which is rotatably driven in association with the engine, and ignition pulses are supplied to the engine in timed relation with the movement of a plurality of different pistons in response to trigger signals generated by a trigger mechanism. The ignition pulses are produced by a capacitive discharge ignition circuit having a pulse transformer associated with each of the different pistons, and the energization of each pulse transformer is controlled by a corresponding switch which is actuated by a trigger signal generated in an associated trigger coil by the rotational movement of a magnetic trigger rotor driven in association with the engine. The trigger rotor carries magnetic means in association with an outer member of magnetically conductive material and having an eccentric configuration defining an intervening air gap with the trigger coil which varies with the movement of the trigger rotor. A radial slot is formed in the periphery of the outer member at a location furthest from the axis of rotation, and the magnetic means provide magnetic poles of opposite polarity on opposite sides of the radial slot to establish a magnetic field with flux reversal for generating a trigger signal of maximum magnitude at low engine speeds. To advance the timing of the ignition pulses a notch is formed in the periphery of the trigger rotor adjacent the radial slot to provide a variation in the flux density for generating a trigger signal which becomes sufficient to actuate the switches upon acceleration of the engine to a predetermined speed.
