    Abstract: Differential case includes multiple oil intake holes being respectively at positions offset from intermediate point between two pinions adjacent peripherally in the case toward the pinions, the holes passing through outer peripheral wall of the case in inside-outside direction and being capable of taking lubricant oil into the case. The holes are formed such that as seen in projection plane orthogonal to rotation axis of the case, axes of the holes extending from inner to outer opening ends of the holes are inclined forward in rotational direction of the case when vehicle travels forward. As seen in the projection plane, the pinions are placed outside areas between first and second imaginary lines, the first imaginary lines joining the axis and one peripheral ends of the inner opening ends, the second imaginary lines joining the axis and the other peripheral ends thereof.

    Abstract: A CVT (continuously variable transmission) differential is provided which includes a first drive input ring gear having internal teeth. A planetary or bevel gear differential is connected to the first drive input ring gear. The planetary differential includes a planet gear carrier, first planet gears, second planet gears, a first sun gear, and a second sun gear. Alternatively, the bevel gear differential includes a carrier that supports drive and driven bevel gears. A second drive input is connected to the planet gear carrier or bevel gear carrier. Preferably, a primary drive is connected to the first drive input ring gear, which can be an internal combustion engine or an electric motor. Preferably, a secondary drive is connected to the second drive input, which is preferably an electric motor, for example for a hybrid motor vehicle.

    Abstract: A driving system includes a drive source for driving a left drive portion and a right drive portion, a power transmission mechanism having a first and second differential mechanisms each including a first rotating element, a second rotating element and a third rotating element and a switching unit. The first rotating elements of the first and second differential mechanisms are connected to each other so as to rotate in the same direction, the second rotating elements of the first and second differential elements are connected to the left drive portion and the right drive portion, respectively, and the third rotating elements of the first and second differential mechanism are connected toe ach other so as to rotate in opposite directions.

    Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to piece-part, sub-assembly, assembly, and component levels of a differential composed of a sun gear configuration and utilized in an integrated drive generator. An integrated drive generator is a hydro-mechanical transmission that drives a synchronous salient pole generator. The integrated drive generator is a constant speed output, variable speed input transmission that includes the differential and a hydraulic unit. In general, the integrated drive generator utilizes the variable speed input from an accessory gear box of an engine to drive or control a hydraulic unit, which in turn drives or controls a churn leg member of the differential. As the differential is driven, speeds of each speed member of the differential are then summed to generate the constant speed output to drive the synchronous salient pole generator.

    Abstract: A gear assembly with two inputs and two outputs which can be used on zero turn riding mowers or similar vehicles. The first input is a propelling input and the second input is a steering input. The assembly contains a planet carrier, a first planetary gear assembly, and a second planetary gear assembly. The propelling input is engaged with the planet carrier. The first and second planetary gear assemblies contain a ring gear. The steering input is engaged with the ring gears. The steering input is either a helical bevel gear, straight bevel gear, or a gear train. In another version, the gear assembly can have two planet carriers connected externally to the planetary gear assemblies. In this instance, a central gear is used in between the first planetary gear assembly and the second planetary gear assembly to connect the sun gears.
