    摘要: A method of controlling a brushless motor that includes storing a lookup table of control values, periodically obtaining a speed-adjusted control value, and exciting a phase winding of the motor. The speed-adjusted control value is then used to define the phase and/or length of excitation. Obtaining the speed-adjusted control value includes measuring the speed of the motor, increasing or decreasing a speed-adjust variable in the event that the measured speed is greater or less than a threshold, selecting a control value from the lookup table using the measured speed, and adjusting the selected control value using the speed-adjust variable to obtain the speed-adjusted control value. Additionally, a control system that implements the method, and a motor assembly that incorporates the brushless motor and the control system.

    摘要: A rotating electrical machine includes a stator and a rotor arranged to rotate inside the stator. The rotor includes a plurality of permanent magnets arranged to produce a radial magnetic flux in an airgap between the rotor and the stator. The machine also includes a stationary excitation coil. The rotor also includes a plurality of low reluctance elements. A current through the stationary excitation coil causes a magnetic flux to be established in a magnetic flux path which passes into the rotor through a first low reluctance element and out of the rotor through a second low reluctance element, which magnetic flux combines with the radial magnetic flux produced by the permanent magnets in the airgap. This arrangement can allow control of the field within a permanent magnet radial flux machine.

The controller switches a direction of electricity flowing through a second coil according to a second lead angle signal obtained based on the first magnetic pole detecting signal and the second magnetic pole detecting signal. Thus, a motor driving apparatus can be configured such that the angle of the rotation center of the rotor with respect to two magnetically sensitive poles can freely be selected.

    摘要: An electric machine comprises a rotor assembly and a stator assembly adjacent the rotor assembly. The stator assembly includes windings disposed around a plurality of teeth, with each phase of the winding including at least one pair of coils wrapped in opposite directions around adjacent teeth to induce mutual inductance between the coils when electrical current flows through the phase of the winding. The coils of different phases are be arranged to cancel magnetic coupling between the different phases. The winding arrangement provides a way to accomplish multiple, redundant, magnetically and electrically isolated windings with current limiting means in a single stator of an electric machine. The winding arrangements inherently provide an increase in mutual inductance and, therefore, an increase in impedance over that possible with prior art winding arrangements to limit the maximum short circuit current in the windings.

    摘要: An electric motor having a rotor and a stator with two sets of stator poles. The poles of one set of stator poles are disposed in positions about the stator which they would normally occupy if all stator poles were disposed symmetrically about the rotor. The poles of the other set are displaced from their normal positions by an angle. The angle is chosen so that a subharmonic of the fundamental torque/angle curve is substantially reduced, thus improving the performance of several types of motors.
