摘要： A roller assembly for an electric razor includes a generally cylindrical roller driven by a drive arrangement to rotate about a central axis. The roller supports a number of blades, each having a cutting edge externally exposed and extending parallel to the central axis. Each blade moves across the skin of a user so as to slice through hair projecting from the skin of the user. The roller assembly further includes at least one filament wond in a helical path around the roller such that a gap between adjacent portions of the filament along the cutting edges is no more than about 8 millimeters.

摘要： In a cutting blade assembly for an electric foil shaver, a first cutting blade of the assembly has a generally planar first face, a generally planar second face opposite the first face, and a peripheral cutting edge. The first cutting blade has at least one bump disposed on its first face. A second cutting blade of the assembly has a generally planar first face, a generally planar second face opposite the first face, and a peripheral cutting edge. The first and second cutting blades are arranged in generally parallel relationship with each other with the first face of the first cutting blade facing either the first face or the second face of the second cutting blade. The bump on the first face of the first cutting blade keeps the first and second cutting blades otherwise separated during a coating process in which the faces of the cutting blades are coated.

摘要： By providing a substantially continuous, arcuately curved, helical-shaped, spring-like coil or ribbon as the cutting element and securely mounting and retaining the coil/ribbon in a holding member, a substantially improved, highly effective, and long-lasting cutting blade assembly is realized. Furthermore, the cutting blade assembly of this invention is substantially less expensive to manufacture, assemble, and employ in a shaver when compared to prior art constructions. In the preferred construction, an elongated coil holding bar is employed for securely holding and retaining the entire length of the helical-shaped, spring-like coil/ribbon, imparting the required rigidity for enabling the elongated coil/ribbon to function in the desired manner. Furthermore, in the preferred configuration, the elongated bar incorporates a plurality of radially extending panel members mounted to a central hub, with the panel members being constructed for enabling the elongated, helically shaped coil/ribbon to be quickly and easily mounted thereon.

Three types of guard/gauge provide conventional hair trimming, combing motion for flat surfaces, or rolling motion for comfort at the underarm and bikini.

摘要： A cutter which performs the function of either the outer or the inner cutter in a cutting device comprised of outer and inner cutters of an electric shaving apparatus or an electric beard trimmer. The cutter includes in its cutting area configured as a plane sliding surface a plurality of teeth extending from a comb strip with slots therebetween and with cutting edges formed on the tooth edges. Arranged on the cutter are one or several wall portions angled relative to the cutting area. The cutting area of the cutter includes a blade made of hardened sheet steel, with the teeth of the blade being produced by etching. The wall portions of the cutter are formed by welding one or several formed sheet metal sections to the blade. The weldment is effected such that the resulting rise in temperature of the blade is so low that the hardened sheet metal material is neither adversely affected by deformations nor exposed to significant losses in respect of hardness and wear resistance. This results in a particularly sharp and long-lasting cutter, with the added effect of affording particular ease and economy of manufacture.
