Abstract: A drive circuit applicable to a display device includes a first signal path and a second signal path. The first signal path, configured to receive and transmit image data, includes a compression unit configured to perform a compression procedure on the image data to generate compression data; a storage unit configured to store the compression data; and a de-compression unit configured to perform a de-compression procedure on the compression data to recover the image data. The second signal path is configured to transmit the image data to the storage unit so as to bypass the compression unit, and transmit the image data received from the storage unit to a display unit so as to bypass the de-compression unit when the image data is not transmitted by the first signal path. The received image data is passed through the first signal path or the second signal path depending upon its characteristics.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for sensing a display panel are provided. The apparatus includes a source driving circuit and a sensing circuit. The source driving circuit is coupled to data lines to drive the pixel circuits according to a display period comprising frame periods. The sensing circuit is coupled to a plurality of pixel circuits. The sensing circuit senses characteristics of the pixel circuits in the test data periods of the display period. The test data periods are periodically arranged in the display period. In each of the test data periods, a corresponding pixel circuit receives test data, and the sensing circuit senses the electrical characteristic of the corresponding pixel circuit. In the scan-line periods of each of the frame periods, the corresponding pixel circuit receives display data from a corresponding data line, and the sensing circuit does not sense the corresponding pixel circuit.

Abstract: The differential difference amplifier circuit includes a differential input stage circuit, a loading stage circuit coupled to the differential input stage circuit, and an output stage circuit coupled to the loading stage circuit. The output stage circuit is configured to generate an output signal. The differential input stage circuit includes a first differential pair having a first transconductance and a second differential pair having a second transconductance. The first differential pair is biased by a first current source and receives a first input signal and the output signal. The second differential pair is biased by a second current source and receives a second input signal and the output signal. At least one of the first transconductance and the second transconductance is adjusted according to the image data.

Abstract: A display apparatus including a display panel, a display driver, a controller and an external circuit is introduced. The display drive includes a power circuit that supplies a first voltage and a second voltage to the display panel to sense a plurality of sensing currents flowing through the display panel according to the first voltage and the second voltage in a first operating mode. The display driver receives the plurality of sensing currents and a target current from the display panel in the first operating mode. The controller is coupled to the display driver and configured to determine a plurality of offsets according to the plurality of sensing currents and the target current in the first operating mode. The external memory is coupled to the controller and the display driver to store the offsets in the first operating mode. The display driver and a method adapted to a display apparatus are also introduced.

Abstract: A fingerprint identification apparatus includes a force sensor, a fingerprint sensor, and a switching circuit coupled between the force sensor and the fingerprint sensor. The switching circuit is configured to alternately activate a low power force detection mode to detect the force touch using the force sensor and a low power fingerprint detection mode to detect the finger touch using the fingerprint sensor after a switching period. In response to determining that either the force touch or the finger touch is detected, the fingerprint identification apparatus detects the fingerprint using the fingerprint sensor in a normal fingerprint detection mode. Next, the fingerprint identification apparatus determines whether the detected fingerprint matches one of reference fingerprints, and outputs an interrupt signal indicating whether the detected fingerprint matches one of the reference fingerprints. A fingerprint identification method and a system for fingerprint identification are also introduced.

Abstract: An image processing circuit and an image contrast enhancement method of the imaging processing circuit are provided. The image processing circuit includes an index generating unit, a data compensation unit, and a data gain unit. The index generating unit receives a plurality of pixel data of a first frame to provide a plurality of local curve indices corresponding to a plurality of display areas of a display panel. The data compensation unit selects parts of a plurality of gray-level transformation curves respectively corresponding to the pixel data according to the local curve indices, so as to regulate the pixel data and then provide a plurality compensated pixel data. The data gain unit determines a data gain according to a backlight duty cycle signal and regulates the compensated pixel data according to the data gain, so as to provide a plurality of enhanced pixel data.
