摘要: A method that operates a modular multilevel converter (MMC), includes controlling a plurality of submodules of an arm of the MMC for a plurality of subsequent periods. Each of the submodules has a capacitor. The controlling includes, for each of the subsequent periods: sampling a value of a reference voltage; determining an integer number n of submodules of the plurality of submodules required to approximate the sampled value; for each submodule of a subset of the n submodules of the plurality of submodules, determining a temperature characterizing the respective submodule; inserting all submodules of the subset of the n submodules except for one remaining submodule; determining, depending on the determined temperatures, a duty ratio; and inserting the one remaining submodule for a duration given by the duty ratio. A minimum temperature of the determined temperatures is identified and the duty ratio is determined depending on the minimum temperature.

摘要: A modular multilevel converter is for a high voltage testing source. The modular multilevel converter includes: an arm, the arm having a plurality of submodules coupled in series, wherein each of the submodules has a capacitor; and a control unit for controlling a pre-charging process of the capacitor of each of the submodules prior to a start of operation of the modular multilevel converter. The control unit is configured to: connect the arm to a constant voltage source for a first period of time; and, for a second period of time after the first period of time, feed a charging current to the arm and control the charging current at a predetermined constant reference current.

摘要: A method analyzes an operation of a power semiconductor device. The method includes: providing a set of reference voltages of the power semiconductor device and a set of corresponding reference currents; measuring an on-state voltage and a corresponding on-state current of the power semiconductor device to obtain a measurement point; adapting the set of reference voltages by adapting two of the set of reference voltages lying closest to the measurement point by extrapolating the measurement point; and using the adapted set of reference voltages to analyze the operation of the power semiconductor device. The extrapolation is based on a predefined reference increment current and a predefined reference increment voltage.

摘要: A method monitors capacitor bushings for an AC mains. The mains has first-third phases, associated with first-third mains lines, capacitor bushings, and mains voltages. Each capacitor bushing has a conductor, surrounded by foil, connecting its mains line. The method includes: at a first instant, for each phase: a first reference voltage phasor is determined; and a foil voltage present between the respective foil and ground potential is detected and a corresponding first foil voltage phasor is determined; at a second instant, for each of the phases: a second reference voltage phasor is determined; the foil voltage is detected and a second foil voltage phasor is determined; for each capacitor bushing: a loss factor change is calculated based on the respective reference voltages and foil phasors and those of the adjacent capacitive bushing; and a monitoring signal is generated based on a comparison of the loss factor and a tolerance value.
