Abstract:
A method for purifying polyphenylene sulfide containing impurities mainly comprising an electrolytic component, which comprises heat-treating said polyphenylene sulfide in an organic solvent in the presence of an oxyalkylene compound thereby to reduce the amount of said impurities.
Abstract:
A compressor comprises a main compressor body of compressing air, an unloader valve device provided at the suction side of the main compressor body, a bleeding pipe provided between the ejection side of the main compressor body and the unloader valve device, and a controlling valve mechanism provided inside the bleeding pipe. The controlling valve mechanism opens by detecting the fluid pressure at the ejection side of the main compressor body. Further, the unloader valve device has a check valve which opens upon-no-load operation and stopping of the operation of the main compressor body, a main valve which opens due to the air released through the bleeding pipe when the controlling valve mechanism opens, a bleeding passage for releasing the released air supplied to the suction side of the check valve, and a relief passage which communicates when the main valve opens, to release the released air to the suction side of the main compressor body.
Abstract:
A method for treating high polymer wastes in such a way that pollution of the atmosphere will be avoided. Solid high polymer bodies are subjected to simultaneous compression and shearing action until they reach a state of fusion and decompose at least in part into a fluid state. The fluid is then directed to a location where it is available as a fuel. A rotary feed screw is situated in a cylinder to coact therewith for providing compression and shearing of high polymer bodies until they reach a state of fusion. Then the fused material is subjected to a decomposing action in order to decompose into a fluid condition, and the resulting fluid is conveyed to a location where the fluid is available for further use.
Abstract:
An active vibration noise control apparatus uses an adaptive control process, which predicts rear road wheel noise canceling sounds by correcting a front road wheel reference signal or a rear road wheel reference signal with a corrective filter, based on different characteristics of front road wheel suspensions and rear road wheel suspensions.
Abstract:
An advertisement selecting system is disclosed providing, when selecting advertisements to be exposed to subscribers over the Internet, exposure control reflecting the inventory of advertisements by taking into account results of past exposure of each of the advertisements. When subscribers with a particular profile biased to specific tastes or preferences gain access to contents carrying advertisements, the first-ranked advertisement, i.e., the one best targeted for the subscribers in question, is exposed repeatedly but in a manner also making way for the advertisements in second and subsequent places which would be less likely to be exposed if handled conventionally, so that the stocked advertisements are exposed in fairly averaged fashion. Advertisement exposure is thus controlled in a manner averting lopsided exposure of certain (or partial) advertisement information by giving consideration to the advertisement inventory.
Abstract:
An ANC apparatus using so-called adaptive control is provided with a cancellation sound output means which outputs front wheel cancellation sound that cancels front wheel vibration noise due to front wheel vibration at a position to be silenced on the basis of a front wheel reference signal, and outputs rear wheel cancellation sound that cancels rear wheel vibration noise due to predicted rear wheel vibration at the position to be silenced on the basis of a rear wheel reference signal, and a turning state detection means which detects a turning state of a vehicle. When a difference in travel trajectory between a front wheel and a rear wheel is detected on the basis of the turning state, the cancellation sound output means suppresses the output of the rear wheel cancellation sound.
Abstract:
An active sound control apparatus includes a delay circuit for delaying the output of a frequency component of a sound effect by delaying an engine rotation frequency signal representative of an engine rotation frequency [Hz], a delay circuit for delaying the output of an amplitude component of the sound effect by delaying an engine rotation frequency change signal representative of an engine rotation frequency change [Hz/second], and delay circuits for delaying the output of all components of the sound effect by delaying a control signal for controlling the outputs of speakers.
Abstract:
An active acoustic control apparatus includes an alert sound signal generator configured to generate an alert sound signal. An alert sound output device is configured to output an alert sound to an outside of a vehicle. A cancellation sound signal generator is configured to generate a cancellation sound signal representing a cancellation sound to cancel the alert sound, which has been transferred from the outside of the vehicle to an inside of the vehicle, at a sound cancellation target position inside the vehicle. A cancellation sound output device is configured to output the cancellation sound to the sound cancellation target position. The cancellation sound signal generator is configured to detect change of a transfer characteristic from the alert sound output device to the sound cancellation target position and to vary an output characteristic of the cancellation sound depending on the change of the transfer characteristic.
Abstract:
A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine of a vehicle sets the overlap amount of an intake valve and an exhaust valve small when the engine is idling and the vehicle is stopped. Also, the control apparatus sets the overlap amount large using normal control when the vehicle is traveling, even if the engine is idling.
