End panel forming flaps are connected to the edges of a central handle panel and end panel flaps are connected to the edges of bottom panel sections on either side of the handle panel. After loading articles through an open end of a partially formed carrier, the end panel forming flaps are folded and the end panel flaps are adhered to them. Gusset panels connect the end panel flaps to the end panel forming flaps. The handle panel is of two-ply construction with a four-ply handle area.

摘要： An enclosed carrier for beverage bottles. The side and end panels taper inwardly near the top panel to provide a tight enclosure for the bottles. The dust flaps are comprised of upper and lower sections separated from each other in the corner areas of the carrier. The upper dust flap sections may be connected at a point spaced from the separated portions by a strap. Fold lines connecting the strap to the upper dust flap section allow it to be folded about an intermediate fold line in the final carrier package. The top panel may be comprised of two plies, the lower ply including end glue flaps adhered to upper end panel flaps. This eliminates an edge which may tend to snag the tops of bottles being loaded. A working score line is provided in one of the side panels to permit the blank to be folded into a flat collapsed carrier despite the fact that the top panel is narrower than the bottom panel.

摘要： A bottle carrier of the type employing tabs surrounding bottle neck openings to support the underside of bottle flanges. The carrier is comprised of an inner clip member and an outer shroud, each having aligned bottle neck openings and tabs. The outer shroud incorporates side panels which fold around adjacent bottles and are adhered to the inner face of the end panels. The side panels are moved into place by the pulling action of gusset panels as the latter are folded into position at the inner face of the end panels. The outermost bottle support tabs are of greater height than the innermost tabs to accommodate bowing of the carrier during lifting, and the other tabs have angled edges adapted to contact the bottle flanges when the carrier is lifted. The inner clip includes short flaps underlying the side and end flaps of the outer shroud.

The carrier is comprised of a panel having slots in a folded, wedge-shaped inner support section and in outer support sections for receiving the can chimes. The inner support sections include finger holes covered by tabs connected by transverse fold lines. Curved transverse fold lines extend toward the central portion of the panel from the ends of the first transverse fold lines to form support segments for receiving and withstanding lifting stresses. A reinforcing strip overlies the inner support section of the panel and includes finger holes which are aligned with the finger holes in the support sections.

摘要： This relates to a closure panel and lock arrangement for cartons of the wrap around type. There are two features. In lieu of the usual primary lock, an outer closure panel is merely provided with divider tabs which extend through suitable apertures in an inner closure panel and extend between articles disposed in adjacent rows within the carton. The inner closure panel may be provided with a female locking slot for receiving the divider tab. There is a locking arrangement similar to the customary secondary lock and utilizing a male locking member of the usual type. However, there is provided a separate female locking slot in the inner closure panel immediately adjacent its folded connection to a side panel of the carton with the female locking slot being formed by a single knife arrangement forming cut lines without the removal of material and the shapes of the cut lines being such to provide for automatic opening of the female locking slot when the inner closure panel is folded relative to the adjacent side panel and defining flexible locking ears which will lock behind shoulders of the male locking tab.
