Abstract:
The self-contained miniature laminar ornamental fountain shown in FIG. 1 comprises an enclosure and water reservoir, 5, a pump, 1, flow control means, 3, pipe or tubing means 5 to conduct water from the pump, 2, to a laminar nozzle, 6. Water in the reservoir, 1, enters the pump, 2, where it is pressurized, thence through the adjustable valve or flow control means, 4, through the tubing, 5, to the laminar nozzle, 6. The laminar stream, 7, emanating from the laminar nozzle, 6, forms a graceful arch and then falls back into the reservoir, 1, to repeat the cycle. In another embodiment of the invention the fountain includes one or more additional laminar or non-laminar nozzles nozzles. In another embodiment the fountain above in which the laminar nozzle(s) contain internal lighting means for producing lighted laminar streams. In another embodiment in the fountain, the laminar stream(s) are interrupted to form jets of water which appear to leap from place to place.
Abstract:
A device for the ornamental display of the interaction of fire and water allowing the spray of a water fountain to be combined with flame from a gas burner is described. The device includes one or more gas burners configured amongst one or more water dispersion assemblies. The water streams from the nozzles of the water dispersion assemblies of the fountain can be directed toward, through, and over the flames originating from the gas burners. The flames originating burners are protected from being extinguished by a water shield. The water shield is positioned in such a manner to influence the characteristics of the flame produced by the burner while still protecting the flames' integrity. The water and fire aspect of the device can operate independently providing a fire source with a reflecting pool or a water fountain absent the flames.
Abstract:
A portable liquid recirculating display device including a housing with a cavity to contain a liquid, a pump to impel the liquid, and at least one laminar stream generator located within the cavity and fluidly connected to the pump.
Abstract:
A showerhead which may be utilized as a source of illumination includes a source of illumination which is efficiently coupled to individual ones of a plurality of water sprays. In an exemplary embodiment, a plurality of fiber-optic members transmit light from one or more individual light sources to corresponding ones of a plurality of individual shower sprays or nozzles. Light from the source of illumination is thus transferred to and is transmitted through a plurality of individual water sprays.
Abstract:
A children's water toy that has a base unit for directing flow of a fluid in a substantially vertical direction and a spraying unit configured to receive fluid from the base member and rebound the fluid to direct it out of the bottom of the spraying unit so that the spraying unit is maintained aloft by the fluid pressure.
Abstract:
An evaporative cooling unit that sprays a water mist into the air to cool the air by evaporation of the water mist is disguised as to its function and purpose by including the misting nozzles and water supply conduits in a decorative structure, such as an artificial flower arrangement or plant. The misting unit of the invention includes a base and a decorative structure extending from the base. A water conduit extends through the base from a base end with a fitting for attachment to a source of pressurized water such as a garden hose, into the decorative structure where it ends in at least one decorative structure end with a misting nozzle thereon. The base may take the form of a flower pot with the decorative structure taking the form of flowers or a plant extending from the flower pot.
Abstract:
A floating fountain that includes of a tubular, hollow base assembly that can be connected to a pressurized source of fluid, a primary nozzle member located centrally to the base assembly, and a plurality of secondary nozzle members located on the base assembly. Each nozzle member is connected to the base assembly such that pressurized fluid may be communicated from the base assembly to the primary nozzle member and the secondary nozzle members in a manner that allows the pressurized fluid to be organized into separate streams of fluid, which extend from each respective nozzle member. A float body is affixed to a bottom side of the base assembly to provide buoyancy to the floating fountain device. Additionally, an infinitely variable valve is included between the pressurized source of fluid and the base assembly so that the pressure at which the pressurized fluid enters the base assembly and is provided to each nozzle member may be variably controlled.
Abstract:
The present invention provides decorative fountains, assemblies for fountains and decorative fountain kits. An assembly for a decorative fountain includes an overflow container defining a reservoir and an outlet in fluid communication with the reservoir, a support surface defining one or more apertures and positioned over the reservoir for supporting a drinking vessel, a support conduit defining a passageway for fluid and having a first end fluidly connected to the outlet and an opposite end defining an aperture. A bottle inlet is in fluid communication with the support conduit and is configured to mate with an inlet opening defined through the base of the beverage container so that the aperture is in fluid communication with the vessel. A pump is disposed within the reservoir and is operable to pump fluid from the reservoir through the passageway and into the vessel.
Abstract:
A man-made aquatic environment comprises a falls assembly and a skimmer assembly. The falls assembly has features designed to help the assembly blend into the surrounding landscape. The skimmer assembly has a removable bucket for holding filter media and other means for removing debris from the water before it is pumped from the skimmer to the falls assembly. Various features of the falls and skimmer assemblies are optimized for manufacturing and storage prior to installation.
Abstract:
A system for waterfall construction and assembly designed for and intended for use by a user comprising of a kit of pre-designed, engineered and manufactured parts wherein each constituent part, when assembled by a user, constitutes a complete waterfall assembly. Primary components of the waterfall system include a remote reservoir, remote pump located in or adjacent to a remote located reservoir, an interim basin, an upper distribution basin, and a user furnished and selected waterfall facing material. Water is circulated distributed and regulated within the upper distribution basin and interrupted in the interim basin to enhance sound prior to it returning to a remote located reservoir to be re-circulated.
