    摘要： A clipping device is provided which comprises: a cartridge containing a belt of plate-shaped clips arranged like a belt; a pair of clamps for holding and bending the upper and lower ends of a clip occupying the front of the clip-arranged belt and thereby separating the front clip from the clip-arranged belt and fastening the end of a bundle of sheets with the separated front clip; a slider that reciprocates between the cartridge and the pair of clamps so that the clip-arranged belt is fed from the cartridge to the pair of clamps; a control unit that controls and drives the pair of clamps and the slider; and a clip-setting-detecting unit that detects whether the separated clip is held by the pair of clamps or not. The control unit has a clip-setting-detecting step in which the slider is caused to perform an operation of feeding the clip-arranged belt a predetermined number of times in a state in which the pair of clamps are opened and are ready to receive the clamp-arranged belt and, if the clamp-arranged belt is not detected by the clip-setting-detecting unit during the predetermined number of times, the pair of clamps and the slider are stopped from being driven.

    摘要： Picture hangers having prongs become automatically inserted into a picture backing material. An insertion apparatus feeds a strip of preformed blanks to an anvil which severs the blanks and presses them into the backing material. At the same time that the apparatus severs the first blank of the strip, a prong forming tool, attached to the anvil, bends the prongs of the next blank. A feed rod advances the strip of blanks through the apparatus, one blank at a time. A pair of paws, attached to the anvil, carry the severed hanger to the picture backing, and releases the hanger as the hanger becomes inserted into the backing. The apparatus includes a resilient structure which enables the device to operate efficiently with picture backings having varying thicknesses. One can also use the invention to insert hangers into picture frames, mirrors, plaques, signs, or the like.

    摘要： An elongated framework has upper and lower clamps for holding a pair of chord members in parallel, laterally spaced relation. Stapler mechanism is provided on the framework for driving staples into the upper and lower edge surfaces of the two chord members while the latter are held by the clamps for connecting them in their laterally spaced relation for subsequent construction into truss joists. Two of the stapling mechanisms are provided for applying upper and lower staples at two longitudinal points along the chord members, and drilling mechanism is provided on the framework between the two stapling mechanisms for providing lateral drilled holes in the chord members.
