    摘要: A cable assembly (11) has a conduit (12) and a core element (14) passing through the conduit (12). A terminal assembly (15) is secured to one end of the core element (14). The subject invention incorporates both an interlock device (46) and an adjustment device on the same cable assembly (11). The interlock device (46) is disposed adjacent the terminal assembly (15) and is movable between a release position allowing relative movement between the terminal assembly (15) and the interlock device (46) and an engaged position preventing the relative movement between the terminal assembly (15) and the interlock device (46). The adjustment device includes an adjustment housing (20) partially disposed about a base portion (28) for allowing axial adjustment of the base portion (28) to tension the core element (14). The adjustment device also includes a movable lock (36) slideably supported by the adjustment housing (20) and movable between an engaged position interconnecting the adjustment housing (20) to the base portion (28) and a disengaged position allowing the axial adjustment and the tensioning of the core element (14).

    摘要: An arrangement is provided for attaching a downcomer which is in the form of a square tube to a weld stud of smaller dimension to provide a tight vibration free connection. Included is an adapter having an end wall and two opposed side walls defining a receptacle having one open end. The weld stud is received in the receptacle with apertures in the side walls of the adapter aligned with those of the stud. The open end of the square tube extends over the adapter with openings in the tube walls aligned with the openings in the adapter in the stud. The openings receive fasteners to make the attachment. One end of the adapter is slotted so that the adapter can be deflected and made to grip the stud frictionally during assembly.

    摘要: A brake to decelerate the driving movement of an actuating rod along an axis. The actuating rod is driven relative to a frame by an actuating mechanism. The actuating rod has an external tapered surface whose lateral dimension decreases in the direction in which it is driven. The brake includes a case attachable to the frame which contains within it a peripheral cylindrical brake band and a wedge member. The wedge member has an outer wall, and a tapered inside wall with substantially the same taper angle as the actuating rod. The wedge member and the brake member are disposed inside a passage in the case, with the brake band disposed between the case wall and the wedge member. There is a spacing between the wall of the passage and the outer wall of the brake band. The tapered inside wall is axially aligned with at least a portion of the inside wall of the brake band. When the tapered surface on the actuating rod enters the tapered inside wall, it presses the wedge member against the brake band and the resulting hoop-expansion of the brake band exerts a restraining force on the actuating rod so as to decelerate and arrest its motion.
