    摘要： A handcuff key having a shank on which is mounted a paddle offset from the end of the shank so that a portion of the shank protrudes beyond the end of the paddle. The key has a first asymmetrical gripping surface as well as a second cylindrical gripping surface. The gripping surfaces are formed of an elastomer while the offset paddle and shank are formed of metal. The key is also provided with a quick release cap which snaps over a double-lock stem extending from the key. In an alternative embodiment, the quick-release cap is provided with an offset key ring to permit the key to hang substantially vertical from an officer's uniform or key ring during storage.

    摘要： A pickproof lock assembly has two lock sections which can be opened by a single key. The first lock section includes a key plug and a first set of tumbler members which engage radial pits provided on the key so as to disengage the key plug from the lock shell. The second lock section includes first and second movable plug halves disposed inside the lock shell and a second set of tumbler members. The key has axially extending curve protrusions on one end to move the first and second plug halves and align groove-free spaces on the surface of the first and second plug halves to form a continuous annular path. The second set of tumbler members contacts the first and second plug halves at the annular path to permit rotation of the key plug relative to the lock shell. When non-alignment of the groove-free space of the first and second plug halves occurs due to insertion of a wrong key, rotation of the key plug by the wrong key causes the second set of tumbler members to engage notches on the surface of the first and second plug halves and prevent further rotation of the key plug.

    摘要： A cylindrical lock with tumbler and driver pins opened or closed by a cylindrical key in which a cylindrical plug is provided with one row or several rows of ".phi."-shaped tumbler pins and the lock body is provided with corresponding driver pins of diversified shapes in equivalent rows. When the lock is closed, the driver pins brake the cylindrical plug at the lock body and thus cannot be rotated. In order to open the lock, the cylindrical key bar is inserted in the key hole of the plug. The key bar is formed with grooves of suitable angle. When the cylindrical key bar is rotated in the key hole, the grooves on the key bar will back up the ".phi."-shaped tumbler pins to the periphery of the plug while pushing the driver pins from the plug into said lock body to make the plug free from said lock body. The cylindrical key bar with special designed angled grooves will apply pressure to the ".phi."-shaped tumbler pins engaging with said plug so as to actuate the lock latch. Outside the plug, lock body and the diversified driver and tumbler pins of said lock, one set of protecting ring and protecting plate is provided to hide the plug within said lock body to make no forcible points therein so as to reduce the possibility of opening by the thief.

    摘要： A litter bin having a hinged door is provided with a lock assembly comprising a bar mounted for vertical sliding movement along an inner surface of the door and having a pair of vertically-spaced latch members which extend through corresponding slots on a confronting wall portion of the litter bin. A spring biases the bar downwardly to a locking position in which the latch members overlap said wall portion and prevent the door from being opened. A small circular keyhole is located in the door and is spaced beneath a release pin which projects from the bar. The lock may be opened by a key having a shank formed with an angular terminal portion which is sized to be inserted through the keyhole, and is sufficiently long to engage and raise the release pin when the shank of the inserted key is turned downwardly.

    摘要： A lock assembly has a stationary barrel. A cylinder having one or more sections is rotatable in the barrel and defines a shear line. Tumbler assemblies in radial bores in the cylinder and barrel are radially and circumferentially spaced. Pins may have different sizes and shapes and may terminate in flat wafer edges exposed to an axial bore in the cylinder. The cylinder receives a key shaft formed with recesses arranged to correspond with the spacing of the tumbler assemblies. Key engaging means is provided at the inner end of the bore in the cylinder to engage an appropriately shaped end of the key shaft. The key shaft may be magnetized to attract magnetic pins of some tumbler assemblies radially into the bore. Radial bores may be countersunk; pins and pin drivers may be ridged and grooved; and spring means can bear tangentially on the cylinder to stabilize it, all to forestall picking of the lock assembly.
