Abstract:
The composition is a red tide organism killer comprising between about 5 percent and about 15 percent sodium hypochlorite and between about 95 percent and about 85 percent inert ingredients in solution and a mixture of the composition and contaminated water. The composition is admixed into the contaminated water at a rate of between about 1 part per million and about 5 parts per million.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a disinfecting article, a sealable housing system for disinfecting articles, and a disinfecting composition comprising a hypohalite composition and a surfactant, for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, with improved stability and extended efficacy for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces with residues such as foods, dirt, microorganisms and many other common contaminates. The disinfecting article is preferably a wipe that is comprised of high denier fibers and stored in a sealable housing system to ensure the stability of the substrate in the hypohalite releasing solution.
Abstract:
A composition is disclosed comprising a dissolvable solid containing an active oxygen compound and precursors for chlorine dioxide characterized in that when said solid weighs a total of about 5 grams it dissolves in about 3.8 liters of water at 25° C. in less than 30 minutes, thereby generating an antimicrobial solution containing at least 10 ppm chlorine dioxide.
Abstract:
A solid preparation for dialysis for preparing a double preparation type sodium bicarbonate solid preparation for dialysis in which there is no fear that a sugar component is decomposed or colored, and which can maintain stability and is also excellent in content homogeneity and a process for producing the same. The solid preparation for dialysis is a mixture of a first composition composed of core particles including sodium chloride and a coating layer containing one or more electrolytes, a second composition composed of core particles including a sugar that is covered with a coating layer comprising the same sugar or a different sugar, and an acid.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an allergen remover composition containing component (a): an organic compound forming an azeotropic mixture with water and having an azeotropic point of lower than 100° C. with water at 1013.25 hPa, component (b): a component which upon evaporation of a liquid component in the allergen remover, forms a solid containing a compound represented by the following general formula (1) or component (b′) a combination of potassium ion, sodium ion and sulfate ion at a potassium ion/sodium ion molar ratio of from 2/8 to 9/1 and component (c) water. KxNay(SO4)2 (1) wherein x is a number of 0.8 to 3.6, y is a number of 0.4 to 3.2, and x+y is 4.
Abstract:
An intestinal lengthening device and method for lengthening the intestine of infants and neonates. The method steps include: resecting a section of intestine to be lengthened; closing the one end of the intestine section, preferably the proximal end, and attaching the other end to an opening in the abdominal wall to form a fistula with stoma; allowing the attachments to heal; attaching the intestinal lengthening device; applying and maintaining 5-20 kPa of tension to the device; allowing the gut to rest for 7 days when the desired length is reached; removing the intestinal lengthening device; reattaching the intestinal section to the intestine. The device includes an inserted end that attaches to the mucosal surface of an intestinal section, an abdominal end that attaches to the abdomen of the patient, and a tension rod to incrementally increase the distance between the two ends. An in situ device includes a sealed tension rod between 2 expansion tips.
Abstract:
A powder for sustained release of a gas including a hydrophilic core, a hydrophobic layer on an outer surface of the hydrophilic core, and particles in contact with the hydrophobic layer. The hydrophobic layer contains an acid releasing agent. The particles contain an anhydrous material capable of binding with water. The core, the particles, and the hydrophobic layer are substantially free of water, and the core is capable of generating and releasing a gas after hydrolysis of the acid releasing agent.
Abstract:
Compositions and methods are disclosed for sanitizing aqueous media, which combine a chlorine-source composition and a glycoluril-source composition. The compositions are added together or separately, continuously or periodically, and by any of a variety of methods. The glycoluril compound stabilizes the chlorine and prolongs its useful life as a microbicidal agent.

Abstract:
The present invention provides for a stabilized solution containing a halogen containing compound which is effective as a sterilizing or disinfecting agent, and a stabilizing agent which suppresses the chemical dissociation of the halogen compound such that the sterilizing capability of the solution is maintained for extended periods of time relative to the solution without the stabilizing agent. The halogen containing compound is selected from the group consisting of chlorine dioxide, bromine oxide, bromine chloride, monochloroamine, bromic acid, iodine monochloride, iodine trichloride and iodine monobromide. The stabilizing agent is a compound having at least one accessible sulphur containing group selected from the group consisting of cyclamic acid, dimethyl sulphoxide, glyoxyl sodium bisulphite, potassium sorbate, sodium cyclamate, sodium metabisulphite, sodium oxalate, sodium sulphite, sodium thiosulphate and thioacetamide. Processes and kits for sterilizing or disinfecting water and objects utilizing the stabilized solutions are also provided by the present invention.
