    摘要: A stabilizer for a steer axle air ride suspension of a vehicle. The vehicle includes a frame having longitudinally extending beams, a pair of spring beams each pivotally attached at its forward end to one of the frame beams by a pivot pin and an air spring interposed between each of the frame and spring beams. The pivot pins lie on a common axis. The stabilizer includes a somewhat U-shaped torsion bar having side portions connected by a cross portion. The distal ends of the side portions of the U-shaped torsion bar are pivotally attached to the pivot pins and the cross portion is rotatably connected to the axle. Isolators are installed at the pivotal attachments of the distal ends of the side portions of the U-shaped bar to the pivot pins and at the rotatable connections of the cross portion to the axle.

    摘要: A rear end of a torsion bar is fixed to a distal portion of a spring plate so that the rear end of the torsion bar is in a position other than front to rear direction of a cross member. Thus, when a load is applied to the suspension system in the front to rear direction, the spring plate elastically deforms in this direction. Therefore, the suspension system can prevent the torsion bar from directly contacting the cross member. Also, the suspension arm has two arm portions each of which is supported by two pivot portions. The body has sufficient rigidity against a load applied in the lateral direction thereof. When a load is applied in the front to rear direction, the spring plate elastically deforms, thereby moving the suspension system in this direction. When a load is applied in the vertical direction of the body, the torsion bar twists. With this reaction force, a suspension force takes place and the spring plate bends. Thus, an excessive bending force is not applied to the torsion bar.

    摘要: A leaf spring suspension for a motor vehicle wherein the leaf spring has one end pivotally connected to the frame and the other end also connected to the frame via a torsion spring member. The torsion spring member has a shaft member which is pivotally connected to the other end of the leaf spring. The torsion spring member has an elastomeric sleeve whose inner bore surface is bonded to the shaft member. The torsion spring member also has an outer shell secured to the sleeve and also connected to the frame. A stop member is mounted on the outer shell for engagement by an abutment member on the bracket member to cut out the torsion spring and place the leaf spring in sole control as the suspension.

    摘要: An independently suspended wheel rear axle suspension for motor vehicles of the torsion spring type is improved by the provision of a bolster that is designed for reducing the suspension space requirements, while providing optimal noise damping and stable wheel guidance. The improved bolster includes, according to a preferred embodiment, a thrust bearing, a rigid longitudinal support that is connected to the vehicle body by the thrust bearing for providing only vibration insulation and guiding, a support bearing, and a resilient spring member connected to the vehicle body by the support bearing for receiving the preponderant torque of the torsion spring and the vehicle weight, while providing vibration insulation. The longitudinal support means is mounted so as to be elastically displaceable under the influence of forces in the vehicle longitudinal direction, while being relatively rigid under the influence of forces in the vehicle transverse direction. The spring member is constructed so as to be elastic crosswise to the direction of vehicle travel for correcting for the effects of lateral and peripheral forces on a wheel of the vehicle.
