摘要: A film projector for use with frames of processed photographic film having frame-associated image orientation data. The film projector has a light source that emits a collimated beam and a film holder that is disposed to hold individual frames of film in the beam. The film holder is pivotable between a first and second orthogonal orientations. An optical projection system receives the beam from the film holder. The optical system propagates and focuses at least a portion of the beam on a viewing plane external to the projector. A sensor is disposed to read the frame-associated image orientation data. The sensor produces a signal responsive to the image configuration information. A controller receives the signal from the sensor. A repositioner is connected to the film holder. The repositioner is operatively connected to the controller to move the film holder between the orientations responsive to the controller.

摘要: A system determines display durations of each of a plurality of images in a presentation based on a respective amount of the information content in the image, the greater the information content the longer the display time. There are various techniques for determining the information content of each of the images. For example, the system determines for each image the number of pixels at each of a multiplicity of respective pixel levels and the total number of pixels at one or more pixel levels for which the respective number(s) of pixels are significantly larger than the numbers of pixels at the other pixel levels. The pixels represented by these one or more pixel levels likely represent background or other mundane information. Consequently, only the pixels at the other values are considered as containing important information and their total number represents the total information content of the image. Another technique is to count the number of alphanumeric characters in an alphanumeric image as a measure of the information content in the image. A third technique is to digitially compress the image and compare the size of the compressed image to the size of the uncompressed image as a measure of the information content.

摘要: A slide projector assembly provided with novel slides which may be drawn upon and/or associated with a sound track specific to the slide being projected. The slides may be blank or have line drawings in which cases the slides may be drawn upon. In addition slides, either of the type set forth above, or of a more or less conventional photographic slide design, may be provided with unique machine readable slide identification means. A housing, which includes slide projection means, is also provided with slide identification reading means so that when a slide is placed in the slide receiving means of the slide projection means a recognition signal will be transmitted. This signal will be received by an audio recording and playback means which may initiate either the playing of a sound track or may set a flag at the beginning of a sound track which is to be recorded.

摘要: A device for supplying masks to be used in a chamber having a wall, comprises an opening formed in the wall of the chamber, and a rotatable shelf disposed in the opening and for carrying thereon the masks. The rotatable shelf is coupled, by way of a rotational shaft, to a portion of the wall adjacent to the opening and the rotational shelf has a mask carrying portion which is rotationally movable, about the rotational shaft, through the opening to and from the inside of the chamber and from and to the outside of the chamber.

摘要: An automated photograph slide storage and retrieval system adapted for use with photograph slides having a magnetic stripe with information characteristic of the slide encoded thereon. The system includes a storage and retrieval device and a terminal. The storage and retrieval device includes a plurality of magazines in which the photograph slides are stored at indexed locations, a pick mechanism for retrieving selected photograph slides from the magazines, a read head, and a computer for controlling the magazines and pick mechanism. Data representative of the indexed locations at which the photograph slides are stored is maintained within electronic memory of the terminal. Information representative of selected slides to be retrieved from or stored within the storage and retrieval device is entered into the terminal through a keyboard. In response, the terminal provides command signals to the computer of the storage and retrieval device thereby causing the selected slides to be stored or retrieved. Information read from the magnetic stripe on the slides is displayed on a monitor at the terminal.

摘要: A transport mechanism for film cards having two rocker levers supported on a pivoting lever that can swivel around a shaft, with the rocker levers being capable of pivoting around a rocker lever shaft. The two rocker levers, in turn, support two opposite discs, one of which is driven by a motor. A gripping motion of the discs is brought about by provision of guide grooves located on the rocker levers, with each groove accommodating a stationary pin. Through provision of an intermediate carrier, the upper disc is fixed to the upper rocker lever in a manner that it can pivot around a horizontal axis which is at right angles to the rocker lever shaft. Therefore the upper disc can be tilted in the respective direction of transport.

摘要: Apparatus for processing a transparency film assemblage subsequent to the photographic exposure of its instant type film frame. The apparatus includes a pair of rollers for spreading a layer of processing liquid between the film frame and a strip sheet, a stripping roller for grasping a free end of the strip sheet and removing it from covering relation with a visible image in the film frame, and structure for folding an apertured section of a film mount into face-to-face relation with another apertured section of the mount such that the film frame is sandwiched therebetween with its image area in alignment with the aperture in each section.
