Abstract: A method for automatically correlating radio wave pulses includes deterring a first normalized phase shift that corresponds to a first radio wave pulse. The method further includes determining a second normalized phase shift that corresponds to a second radio wave pulse. The method further includes determining the first normalized first normalized phase shift is equal to the second normalized phase shift. The method further includes in response to determining the first normalized phase shift is equal to the second normalized phase shift, correlating the first radio wave pulse and the second radio wave pulse as originating from a same radio wave transmitter. The method further includes transmitting a signal indicative of the first radio wave pulse and the second radio wave pulse as originating from the same radio wave transmitter through a circuit

Abstract: An inflatable mast couplable to an underwater vehicle includes a flexible material defining an interior volume, a head structure, and a spring coupled to at least one of the flexible material and the head structure. The flexible material is designed to be filled with air to form an inflated mast structure that extends away from the underwater vehicle. The head structure is disposed at a distal end of the inflated mast structure and in some cases has a rigid shape that forms a panel having an outer surface that is flush with an outer surface of the underwater vehicle, when the mast structure is deflated and stowed. The spring is designed to provide a tensile force on at least one of the flexible material and the head structure when the flexible material is inflated to form the mast structure. A system includes the inflatable mast and a pump.

Abstract: A method and system is disclosed for determining a probability that an encountered platform was of a specific type given that a plurality of emitters exist on the platform and each emitter has a computed probability that it is of each of a set of types. A preprocessing stage operates on a description of the environment and determines the probability of a set of events that are independent of any observation. A runtime processing stage uses the terms computed in the preprocessing stage along with data assembled from a set of observations to determine the conditional probability that a particular platform type was the type encountered.

Abstract: Techniques, systems, architectures, and methods for modulating the focal spot and/or divergence of a laser beam comprising the use of a collimated light source, a lens assembly disposed within an optical path corresponding to light emanating from the collimated light source wherein the lens assembly comprises two pairs of cross cylinder lenses having equal and opposite focal powers oriented with their neutral axes positioned orthogonally to each other; and a focusing objective lens assembly disposed within the optical path following the lens assembly, wherein each of the two pairs of cross cylinder lenses are configured for rotation about an axis defined by the point at which light from the collimated light source impinges on each of them.

Abstract: A flip-flop and latch circuit is disclosed. The circuit includes a single-input inverter, a dual-input inverter, a single-input tri-state inverter, a dual-input tri-state inverter, and two single-event transient (SET) filters. The single-input tri-state inverter receives an input signal D. The dual-input tri-state inverter includes a first input, a second input and an output, wherein the first input receives output signals from the dual-input inverter and the second input receives output signals from the dual-input inverter via the first SET filter. The output of the dual-input tri-state inverter sends output signals to a first input of the dual-input inverter and a second input of the dual-input inverter via the second SET filter. The single-input inverter receives inputs from the dual-input inverter to provide an output signal Q for the circuit

Abstract: A network system provides architecture for transmitting data across low-bandwidth links via user datagram protocol (UDP) via a scheduler that schedules, prioritizes, and collaborates data for transmission. The schedule coordinates low priority data and high priority data that may interrupt the low priority data in response to preset rules programmed into an automatic decision module. The automatic decision module may also include variable rules that can vary in response to machine learned information occurring or incoming to the system in situ.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating infrared radiation are provided. The systems and methods may generate, via one or more pump sources, one or more pump beams. The one or more pump beams may define a single beamline. The systems and methods may further generate, via a nonlinear optical converter, a first signal wavelength, a first idler wavelength, a second signal wavelength, and a second idler wavelength based, at least in part, on the one or more pump beams. The first signal wavelength and the first idler wavelength may be independently variable from the second signal wavelength and the second idler wavelength. The systems and methods may further output, via the nonlinear optical converter, a mid-wave infrared (MWIR) beam including three or more wavelengths in the single beamline.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for determining the presence of pulse jams in an identification friend or foe (IFF) system. In an embodiment, a plurality of jamming pulse rates are determined. Each of the plurality of jamming pulse rates is a count of jamming pulses entering the IFF system during a corresponding integration period. Each of the plurality of jamming pulse rates is a count of jamming pulses associated with non-valid signals entering the IFF system. An average jamming pulse rate is computed based on the plurality of jamming pulse rates. The average jamming pulse rate is then compared against a pulse jam threshold to determine whether a pulse jam is present (or not present) in the IFF system.
