摘要: An image capture system is provided with a USB terminal to which a drive is connected. When a user drops a coin into a coin insertion slot, the fact that the user intends to use the system is verified. As a result, a message to the effect that image data can be read using the drive is displayed on the display screen of a display unit. By observing the display on the display screen, the user can ascertain that the drive has been added onto the image capture system.

摘要: A flip-chip attach method includes the steps of: attaching a chip on a transparent substrate such that each connecting pad of the chip is aligned with each electrical connection pad on the transparent substrate; and irradiating each connecting pad and each electrical connection pad from a side of the transparent substrate with a laser beam so as to weld the connecting pad to the electrical connection pad. Furthermore, the invention also provides a flip-chip attach structure including a transparent substrate and at least one chip. A surface of the transparent substrate is formed with a plurality of electrical connection pads, and the chip has a plurality of connecting pads. The connecting pads and the electrical connection pads are irradiated with a laser beam and are welded to each other. Thus, the chip is mounted to the transparent substrate.

摘要: A steam generator boiler for generating steam is connected to a supply conduit for supplying water to the boiler with a supply valve for controlling the supply of water through the supply conduit. A heater supplies heat to the boiler for generating steam with a discharge conduit for discharging excess impure water therefrom. A metering device is operatively connected to the supply conduit for regulating the flow of water to the boiler by calculating the amount of water required based on wattage or BTU's generated by the heater. A pressure switch or thermostat is provided for operating the boiler and the supply valve on the supply conduit for supplying water to the boiler to permit water to be added every time the heater is energized. In addition, a heat exchanger is provided for receiving discharged heated water from the steam generator and preheating water supplied to the steam generator.

摘要: A half duplex device and signal processing method thereof. First, a signal detection unit of a signal detector of a half duplex device obtains a short-term power and long-term power. Next, a data update unit of the signal detector sets a short-term power threshold as a default threshold, determines whether the long-term power is greater than the default threshold, sets the short-term power threshold value equal to the long-term power value if the long-term power value is greater than the default threshold value, and provides smooth performance in a noisy environment.

摘要: A method and apparatus for rate control in moving picture compression. Bit allocation with initial quantization step size estimation is used at picture level. With the relationship between pre-analyzed activity of current picture to be encoded and actual complexity of previously encoded picture of the same type, a target bit budget can be allocated to the current picture in accordance with the present invention. Once the target bit budget has been determined, an initial value for an average quantization step size is estimated on the basis of the target bit budget, along with the relationship between pre-analyzed activity of current picture and actual complexity of previously coded picture. Such an initial value of the average quantization step size is useful to achieve higher picture quality at a given bit allocation.

摘要: Method and system for information association based on an absolute position coding pattern comprising dots or markings which codes coordinates for a position on an imaginary surface. The imaginary surface comprises several regions which are divided in areas, each defined by said coordinates. Handwritten information is digitized by a handheld device which is moved over a surface provided with said pattern and acts like a pen to make notes on the surface. At the same time, the pattern is sensed and coordinates for the pen is calculated regularly. By passing the handheld device over the borderline between areas having different coordinates, a hyperline is generated having a discontinuity. Such a hyperline is easily recognized by the computer system and is used for connecting information at different areas, giving information some properties, like color, or performing an action on the information, such as encryption, or transferring the information to a recipient.

摘要: In circulating type food and drink transport apparatus (EQU), a plurality of plates (5A) is located on a circular link chain (4) including a chain driving section (DV) and a chain driven section (FR) with a predetermined clearance. The circular link chain is guided and carried by a traveling lane (1). The lower portion of the traveling lane is closed using a substantially U-shaped receiver (9). The chain driving section and the chain driven section are movable in accordance with a manual operation. The link chain is loosened, and thereby, the traveling lane (1) is securely cleaned.
