摘要： A multiwavelength transmitter comprises several laser sources (1) each configured to generate light of a different wavelength and a first array waveguide grating (2) arranged to direct light from each of the laser sources (1) into a first waveguide. The transmitter further comprises several electroabsorption modulators (7) each arranged to modulate light at one of the wavelengths with a respective data signal and a second array waveguide grating (6) arranged to direct each of said different wavelengths of light from the first waveguide to a respective one of the modulators (7). The optical modulators (7) are reflective optical modulators and the second array waveguide grating (6) is arranged to direct the modulated light reflected from each of the optical modulators (7) back into the first waveguide. An optical circulator (5) is provided in the first waveguide to couple modulated light from the second array waveguide grating (6) into an output waveguide. The laser sources each comprise a respective reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (1) and share a common cavity reflector (3). The first array waveguide grating (2) is located in the optical path between the semiconductor optical amplifiers (1) and the common cavity reflector (3). The transmitter has the advantage that it can be manufactured by hybrid integration of a monolithic wavelength generation sub-module and a monolithic data modulation sub-module.

In a further embodiment, a facial scanning module is provided at least partially within the main housing, including a scanning device for scanning a face of a patient. The processing unit is programmed to recommend and cause the vending apparatus to vend one of the respiratory patient interface device products based on the scanning of the face of the patient.

The main frame includes a central support portion for supporting a cushion component and first and second arms extending from the central support portion. The headgear includes a support portion, and first and second straps extending therefrom. The first strap has a first pocket and the second strap has a second pocket, wherein the first arm is received and moveable within the first pocket along a longitudinal axis of the first strap and the second arm is received and moveable within the second pocket along a longitudinal axis of the second strap. The headgear also includes first and second fastening mechanisms for securing the headgear to the main frame, holding the first arm in a selected position within the first pocket and holding the second arm in a selected position within the second pocket.

摘要： In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a novel class of sulfonamide compounds. Compounds of the invention contain a core sulfonamide group. Variable moieties connected to the sulfur atom and nitrogen atom of the sulfonamide group include substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl moieties, substituted or unsubstituted heterocycle moieties, polycyclic moieties, halogen, alkoxy, ether, ester, amide, sulfonyl, sulfonamidyl, sulfide, carbamate, and the like. Invention compounds are capable of a wide variety of uses. For example sulfonamide compounds can act to modulate production of amyloid β protein and are useful in the prevention or treatment of a variety of diseases. Pharmaceutical compositions containing invention compounds are also provided. Such compositions have wide utility for the prevention or treatment of a variety of diseases.

摘要： Method and apparatus are provided for trapping metastability events to provide a metastable-free output signal. At least three successive values of an input signal are latched successively over a predetermined period which is less than half of a fundamental period of the input signal to provide at least three corresponding latched values. First and second intermediate signals are activated when outputs of all of the at least three corresponding latched values are in respective first and second logic states. An output signal is placed in a first predetermined logic state in response to the second intermediate signal and is changed from the first predetermined logic state to a second predetermined logic state in response to the first intermediate signal.

摘要： Transgenic non-human mammals which express in their brains a nucleic acid construct comprising a DNA sequence encoding a human amyloid precursor protein FAD variant where at amino acid position 717 valine is substituted by isoleucine. These transgenic non-human mammals can be assays systems for determining compounds which are effective in modulating production of human amyloid precursor protein in brain and in isolated neuronal cells. Specifically exemplified are transgenic mice whose genome comprises a DNA sequence encoding a human amyloid precursor protein FAD variant where at amino acid position 717 valine is substituted by isoleucine operably linked to a Thy-1 promoter. The mice are shown to produce the APP-FAD variant in their brains by mRNA and protein assays.

摘要： A system, method, and computer program product for processing data are described herein. The system maintains first databases of patents, and second databases of non-patent information of interest to a corporate entity. The system also maintains one or more groups. Each of the groups comprises any number of the patents from the first databases. The system, upon receiving appropriate operator commands, automatically processes the patents in one of the groups in conjunction with non-patent information from the second databases. Accordingly, the system performs patent-centric and group-oriented processing of data. A group can also include any number of non-patent documents. The groups may be product based, person based, corporate entity based, or user-defined. Other types of groups are also covered, such as temporary groups. The processing automatically performed by the system relates to (but is not limited to) patent mapping, document mapping, patent citation (both forward and backward), patent aging, patent bracketing/clustering (both forward and backward), inventor patent count, inventor employment information, and finance. Other functions are also covered.

摘要： A promotional closure for use with an associated container includes a plastic closure cap having an inwardly recessed, circular top wall portion defining a compartment and a depending annular skirt portion depending from the top wall portion. A circumferential lip formed in the closure cap generally at about a periphery of the compartment, defines a circumferential channel-like recess adjacent to the compartment. The closure further includes a removable, circular cover member adapted to cover the compartment by insertion into the circumferential recess. The cover has a pair of circumferentially opposed tab-like, releasable engaging members which are adapted to be received in the circumferential recess to retain the cover in place in the cap over the compartment. The engaging members are further adapted to release from the recess for removal of the cover member from the top wall portion when pressure is applied to the cap on the skirt portion adjacent to where the engaging members are positioned in the recess to thereby permit access to the compartment. Alternately, the cover includes a depending skirtlike seal support member which exerts an outward force on the top wall portion to urge the top wall portion into sealing engagement with an inside surface at the mouth of the container.

摘要： Power transmission fluids are described that have a Brookfield viscosity of 13,000 cP or less at -40.degree. C., a viscosity of at least 2.6 mPa.multidot.s at 150.degree. C. in the ASTM D-4683 method, and a viscosity of at least 6.8 cSt at 100.degree. C. after 40 cycles in the FISST of ASTM D-5275. This is achieved by use of particular base oil and additive components in specified proportions. Evaluations to date indicate that the compositions evaluated possess a combination of performance properties deemed necessary by an original equipment manufacturer for a new generation of electronically controlled automatic transmissions equipped with torque converter clutches capable of operating in a continuous slip mode.
