Abstract: An adjustable back support assembly coupled to the back of a chair in which a user sits with his back spaced from the chair back. The adjustable back support assembly includes a back support that is pivotally connected to the back of the chair by a hinge. The back support is rotatable at the hinge away from the chair back and towards the back of the user to provide support thereto. The back support assembly also includes a gas cylinder having a retractable piston. The gas cylinder is connected between the back support of the adjustable back support assembly and an upstanding rigid chair backing within the back of the chair. When the retractable piston is forced outwardly from the gas cylinder, a linear pushing force is correspondingly generated by the piston to cause the back support to rotate away from the chair back and towards the back of the user.

Abstract: A lumbar device located inside the back of a chair that tilts back and forth as a user shifts his weight in the chair. The lumbar stimulation device includes sets of back massaging rollers to apply a focused pressure and improve the circulation of blood flowing through the lower back of the user. The lumbar stimulation device is attached to a flexible strap that extends substantially vertically inside the chair had. One end of the flexible strap is affixed to the chair base below the chair seat. The opposite end of the strap is bent backwards when the chair back tilts backwards. When the user leans back, the back of the chair will be pushed downwardly with respect to the strap and the lumbar stimulation device attached to the strap to make it appear to the user that the back massaging rollers of the lumbar stimulation device are moving upwardly along his back.

Abstract: A progressively curved lumbar support located within the back of an office or home chair to enable a user to be seated close to a work surface (e.g., a desk or a table). The chair back tilts backwards and forwards when the user shifts his weight back and forth. The lumbar support includes a cushion back support manufactured from a resilient material that is responsive to a compressive force applied thereto when the user reclines against the chair back. In particular, a tilt pressure-responsive rod rides up and down over a pair of inclined guide blocks to cause the cushion back support to change its shape from a convex configuration at which to support the user's lower back and maintain a proper posture when the user sits erect and the chair back stands upright to a relatively flattened configuration when the chair back tilts backwards.

Abstract: Backlighted floor and wall-mounted stands, each including a set of shelves and a mood-enhancing light source (e.g., an LED tube) located behind the shelves. Abstract: A folding TV stand assembly adapted to be shipped disassembled in a substantially-flat configuration within a compact shipping container and assembled without the use of tools. The TV stand assembly includes a rotatable shelf support, a TV mount to be connected to the back of a television, and an upstanding back spine to be removably received at one end thereof by a spine-receiving base of the rotatable shelf support and detachably connected at the opposite end thereof to the TV mount. The shelf support has first and second sets of rails that are pivotally coupled to respective opposite sides of the spine-receiving base. The first and second sets of rails are rotatable relative to the spine-receiving base between an unfolded position projecting outwardly and away from one another to a folded position arranged in parallel alignment with one another to facilitate transport in the substantially-flat shipping configuration. A plurality of shelves are detachably connected to the sets of rails of the shelf support when the rails are rotated to the unfolded position.

Abstract: An adjustable arm assembly for a chair is described including an adjustable arm having a detent actuator to be manually depressed so that elevation of the chair arm can be selectively adjusted relative to the chair seat to accommodate the arms of a user. An elevation adjustment tube to which the adjustable arm is connected is slidable through a hollow elevation guide tube at the side of the chair so that the elevation of the adjustable arm can be changed. A lock is carried by and slidable with the elevation adjustment tube through the elevation guide tube. The lock has a detent pin that is moved into receipt by one of a plurality of detent holes formed in the elevation guide tube when the detent actuator is not being operated so as to releasably retain the elevation adjustment tube within the elevation guide tube. An elongated actuator arm runs through the elevation adjustment tube between the detent actuator and the lock. A pressing force manually applied to the detent actuator causes the actuator arm to move longitudinally through the elevation adjustment tube towards the lock. Accordingly, the detent pin of the lock is pulled out of its receipt by the detent hole formed in the elevation guide tube, whereby to permit the elevation adjustment tube to slide through the elevation guide tube so that the elevation of the adjustable arm can be changed.
