    摘要: A belt loading apparatus has been provided for loading a flimsy continuous belt onto a belt support and drive assembly including a vertical front end having a first shape and without damage to the belt. The belt loading apparatus includes a wall member defining a sleeve including an outer surface having a total outer surface area, a first edge and a second and opposite edge. The second edge has a vertical profile having a second shape such that the second shape of the second edge is a mirror image of the first shape of the belt support and drive assembly. The belt loading apparatus then includes friction reducing members formed on the outer surface of the sleeve for temporarily supporting and spacing a flimsy continuous belt to be loaded onto the belt support and drive assembly. The friction reducing members each have a belt contact area such that a sum total of belt contact areas of all the friction reducing members is significantly less than the total outer surface area of the sleeve.

    摘要: An electrophotographic imaging member provided with a supporting substrate, a conductive layer, a charge blocking layer, an optional adhesive layer, a charge generating layer and a charge transport layer, wherein the charge generating layer contains a photogenerating pigment and a copolyester adhesive dopant blended into a film-forming polymer binder. The doping of the charge generating layer with a copolyester adhesive permits the elimination of the need of the optional adhesive layer for effective cost saving measure. If the adhesive layer is provided, the adhesion strength between the charge generating layer and the adhesive layer is significantly enhanced by up to about four times.

    摘要: A flexible electrophotographic imaging member is disclosed which comprises a flexible substrate having an electrically conductive surface, a hole blocking layer comprising an aminosilane reaction product, an adhesive layer having a thickness between about 200 angstroms and about 900 angstroms consisting essentially of at least one copolyester resin having the following formula: ##STR1## wherein the diacid is selected from the group consisting of terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, and mixtures thereof, the diol comprises ethylene glycol, the mole ratio of diacid to diol is 1:1, n is a number between about 175 and about 350 and the T.sub.g of the copolyester resin is between about 50.degree. C. to about 80.degree. C., the aminosilane also being a reaction product of the amino group of the silane with the --COOH and --OH end groups of the copolyester resin, a charge generation layer comprising a film forming polymeric component, and a diamine hole transport layer, the hole transport layer being substantially non-absorbing in the spectral region at which the charge generation layer generates and injects photogenerated holes but being capable of supporting the injection of photogenerated holes from the charge generation layer and transporting the holes through the charge transport layer. Processes for fabricating and using the flexible electrophotographic imaging member are also disclosed.

    摘要: The presently disclosed embodiments relate generally to an image forming apparatus comprising an overcoat layer disposed directly over in contact with the top circumferential surface of a seamed intermediate transfer belt, and methods for making the same. The overcoat layer, comprising a film forming A-B diblock copolymer and conductive particles dispersion, not only renders the seam area physical/mechanical/electrical continuity for achieving absolute belt surface imageability to function like a seamless intermediate transfer belt, it also provides increased mechanical strength to resist fatigue-bend cracking under normal dynamic intermediate transfer belt machine cycling conditions in the field. The overcoat of this disclosure thus helps to reduce wear and extend service life of the belt.
