Abstract: A plurality of storage trays are arranged for a stacked relationship relative to one another defined by side walls mounting projections on top surfaces of the side walls received within slots directed through bottom surfaces of an adjacent side wall of an overlying tray. The tray structure defines a cavity between a forward edge of a floor and a rear first wall. A rear second wall is spaced relative to the first wall to mount spaced flanges therewithin, wherein the flanges are further received within openings within an overlying tray. A ratchet plunger is positioned medially of the first rear wall to provide selective projection of a compact disc positioned on the floor in communication with the plunger. A modification of the invention includes an underlying support base formed with fiber optic cables directed through the support base and cooperative with fiber optic cable segments positioned within each of the overlying trays to provide visual indication of proper registration of each tray relative to one another, whereupon misalignment provides a discontinuity in an associated fiber optic cable line indicating such misalignment.

Abstract: A protective disk case comprises a thin box having a rigid top shell and a rigid bottom shell which cooperatively fit together to define an enclosed area which is sized to receive a recording disk. The top and bottom shells are separatable so that the front and back side of the disk case are separatable into two parts. Furthermore, there is included a locking means and a hinge means for connecting and locking the top and bottom shells together. One embodiment describes a circular bevelled edge within the enclosed area for supporting the recording disk without having the sides of the disk contacting the inside of the protective disk case. A hook may be attached to the top of the protective disk case to allow hanging of the case from a support rod. Furthermore, there is disclosed a second, thin box having an open side to allow for insertion of the protective disk case to facilitate in the storage and handling of individual recording disks.

Abstract: This invention discloses an adjustable CD storage rack to hold a plurality of CDs such that a side edge and front face of the CDs are normally observable, with the storage rack formed by a pair of spaced end supports movable on rods with respect to each other to adjust the storage size of said rack. Abstract: A device for storing and displaying compact discs comprising a series of horizontally interconnecting elongated rigid display panels, which may vary in length and are assembled vertically. Each panel member includes a forward and rearward surface and upper and lower edge portions which incorporate the means used to couple each member to the one next adjacent. The rearward surface, which is generally flat, contains a means to mount each member separately to a vertical flat surface, such as a wall. The member is mounted against the flat surface so that the lower portion of each said member is positioned at a slight acute angle relative to the surface of the wall. Along the upper edge of each panel member is a top guide ridge member which includes an edge and a lip extending around the edge surface for releasably retaining each compact disc case on the display rack. Along the lower edge of each panel member is a base upon which the bottom edge of each compact disc case rests when stored and on display.

Abstract: A data storage disk cartridge library includes a media drive having a clean internal environment, a disk cartridge bay positioned adjacent to the media drive, and a disk cartridge positioned in the disk cartridge bay and having clean compartments for housing a clean disk trays supporting clean magnetic recording disk media.
