    摘要: A transfer switch is provided for transferring the supply of electrical power to a load between a utility source and a generator that generates electrical power when started. The transfer switch includes a transfer relay that selectively connects the load to one of the utility source and the generator in response to the application of electrical power on the coil of the transfer relay by the generator. A generator relay having a coil operatively connected to the utility source is also provided. The generator relay provides a signal to the generator to start in response to the absence of electrical power on the coil of the generator relay by the utility source.

    摘要: A modular patient care system having a central management unit module and one or more detachable functional units is described. Using unique mechanical and electrical features, the modular patient care system is capable of flexibly, bilaterally, and safely providing electrical power from the central management unit to the attached functional units, with exposed power leads of end units being electrically isolated for safety and security. Functional units are capable of detecting the presence of other functional units more distant from the central management unit for passing power to those units, and for otherwise electrically isolating exposed power leads when no further units are attached. Additionally, the modular patient care system provides for a modular connection arrangement wherein modules are detachably connected to each other in a convenient, flexible, interchangeable, and secure manner by providing a hinge connector pair, a specially located latch mechanism, and a guide means between any pair of modules.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an energy saving outlet, which comprises: a housing, having at least one first opening and a second opening thereon, for disposing the following elements at least one outlet, disposed in the housing and exposed the first opening, for providing an electrical equipment being plugged into; a sensor, disposed in the housing and exposed the second opening, for sensing a starting signal of the electrical equipment; a control unit, disposed in the housing and coupled to the sensor, for outputting a control signal when it receives the starting signal; a relay, one end being coupled to a power input terminal, and another end being coupled to the control unit, for being changed to an on or off state through the control signal; thereby the energy saving outlet can turn OFF its power when the electrical equipment has entered a stand-by state, so as to achieve the goal of energy saving. Furthermore, the present invention also provides an energy saving method by using an outlet.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for controlling user access to electrical receptacles and telephone and network communications receptacles. The device features a short range radio receiver and one or a plurality of RF energized radio identification tags with transmittable identification transponder codes. The receptacle contains circuitry that detects the immediate presence of energized transponders with proper identification codes and only enables the electric, telephone or network access from the receptacle to become active if the correct matching transponder identification code is present. The tag is a small flexible device having one side that may be attached to the plug or the receptacle or interfaced therebetween. Access to the power or network is allowed for a defined duration of time or only so long as the transponder remains energized and transmits the identification code.

Accordingly, connection state of each connector can be directly and simultaneously detected by the switching operation of the detector switch at a time preceding a little from a time when the antenna detects the memory function unit just having closed to a position opposed to the antenna. This is useful for exactly and detecting without delay the complete coupling state of each one of a number of adapters in distinction from the incomplete coupling state of any one of adapters.

    摘要: A modular power distribution unit (PDU) for supplying electric power to attached equipment in environments such as data centers, computer rooms, and communication centers, where power requirements for attached equipment may vary. The power distribution unit includes a frame and one or more user-replaceable power modules, which fit into slots in the frame. Each power module provides one of more plug receptacles for attaching equipment to provide power thereto. The power modules are available in a variety of receptacle types, receptacle numbers, and power rating configurations to accommodate various equipment in a particular environment, as needed. The frame includes an internal connector panel for distributing power from a power source to the power modules when they are inserted in the frame. The power modules may be removed, installed, and interchanged in the frame without interrupting power to other power modules or to the power distribution unit.

    摘要: An inexpensive audio bookmark system is provided that includes a control interface in the form of an electrical plug/receptacle type adaptor for plugging into an electrical power source receptacle. The adaptor includes female receptacles for receiving a power plug from an audio or audio-visual device in the form of a tape or video cassette player. The adaptor is connected in series with a remote control push-button switch having a low pressure responsive push button actuator normally biased to an open-circuit position interrupting power to the tape player. When playing a books-on-tape recording or the like, the listener manually depresses the remote switch push button actuator to energize the audio device. In the event the listener is distracted or dozes so as to release the push button actuator, the audio device will stop playing, thereby maintaining the tape deactivated at substantially the precise point at which the listener has been distracted or dozes off. Thereafter, subsequent depressing of the remote control switch push button initiates play at substantially the point at which play was interrupted.
