    摘要: A keyless door lock that prevents young children from opening doors. The lock is a bolting mechanism type lock or a latching type lock having no keyed lock access side to it, but rather, a means for locking and unlocking the lock, such as a knob, on one or both sides of the door that when turned, unlocks the door. The lock is positioned within the door at a height that is unreachable by small children. The lock can lock doors internal to the home (e.g., doors to medicine closets, cleaning supply closets, garage doors, doors at the top of stairs) and doors that provide access to the exterior of the home, thus access to leave the home without supervision. Adults and older children, however, are never locked in or out of the room or house as merely the turning of a knob is required for operating the lock.

    摘要: An animal-resistant system for inhibiting access to refuse containers by animals is disclosed. The system comprises at least one latch mechanism, at least one actuation member, at least one shroud member, and a cover defining an opening which permits access to the actuation member. The actuation member communicates with the latch mechanism so as to move the latch mechanism between the latched and unlatched positions. In the latched position, the latch mechanism secures the container lid to the container base, substantially inhibiting access to the container. The access hole and actuation member are dimensioned and positioned on the container in a selected manner so as allow human hands access to the actuation member and unlatch the container while simultaneously inhibiting such access by animals. The shrouds are further configured to inhibit forcible entry into the container when the system is latched.

    摘要: A lock is described for sliding aluminium door or window panels, wherein are used discrete hooking and locking mechanisms. The hooking mechanism comprises an oblong hook profile (21) which rotates automatically in a hooking or unhooking position into a vertically extending frame profile (1) which bears a respective recession shaping, as the sliding door/window panel is simply pulled in the opening or shutting direction, respectively. The locking mechanism operates so that, when being controlled by the user, it is set in a position for capturing the hooking mechanism in the hooking position, by capturing the immobilisation arm of the above mentioned, otherwise freely and automatically rotating, oblong hook profile (21).
