摘要: A solid-state electromagnetic rotor, including a plurality of salient pole pieces arranged around a supporting structure, wherein a first end of each salient pole piece is attached to the support structure and a second end of each salient pole piece points outward away from the supporting structure. The wires wound around each salient pole piece, wherein when the wires of the plurality of salient pole pieces are sequentially excited by an excitation circuit. The salient pole pieces are energized to provide a moving polar magnetic field in the form of distinct magnetic poles as desired to accomplish power generation.

摘要: An electric motor includes a rotor and a stator including a stator core, a plurality of armature windings, a plurality of field windings, and a plurality of bonded magnets. The stator core has a plurality of teeth alternately defining field slots and armature slots along a circumferential direction, and a stator yoke magnetically coupling the plurality of teeth opposite the rotor. Each armature winding is wound around two of the teeth sandwiched between an adjacent pair of the armature slots. Each field winding is wound around two of the teeth sandwiched between an adjacent pair of the field slots. The magnets are individually located in the field slots while opposing the field windings in the radial direction. Each adjacent pair of the magnets along the circumferential direction respectively has an adjacent pair of pole surfaces, with the adjacent pair of pole surfaces having a same polarity.

摘要: A synchronous machine and related systems include a stator and rotor separated by an air gap. The rotor includes a rotating DC power supply coupled to exciter windings disposed adjacent the air gap. Power from air gap harmonics, including air gap slot harmonics induce current in the exciter windings, which is rectified and supplied to the rotor field windings. In operation, a desired current level in the rotor field windings can be achieved through control of the DC power supply or superposition of harmonics into the stator winding current which induces the prescribed current in exciter windings.

摘要: A field winding type synchronous machine connects to a DC line and includes a rotor; a stator; an exciter that passes a current through a field winding of the rotor; and a rectification circuit that rectifies an output from the exciter and provides the output to the DC line. The synchronous machine includes the field winding being connected in parallel to a first circuit in which a parallel circuit including a rectifier element and a first switchgear is connected in series to a discharge resistor, a second switchgear being connected in series to the DC line that connects the first circuit to the rectification circuit, and a capacitor being provided between the discharge resistor and the input side of an electric power source element for gating the first switchgear.
