摘要： Apparatus and methods for periodically testing emergency wash units which involve the use of a transparent splash containment device which is positioned over an emergency wash unit and optionally attached thereto. The transparent splash containment device diverts and directs water flow to the drain of the emergency wash unit. An alignment indicator including sighting marks is provided to determine the alignment of the water flow. The sighting marks are provided with grid scales which can be used to estimate the velocity of the water flow.

摘要： Apparatus is disclosed for quickly delivering a flow or spray of an eyewashing liquid such as water to the eyes of the wearer of a helmet or hard hat. A reservoir of appropriate liquid is formed within the helmet or hard hat. Air pressure is applied to the body of liquid by means of an associated pneumatic priming pump. Conduits communicate between the reservoir and duct members which are positioned to direct the flow of liquid into the eyes of the user. The duct members are opened by the pulling of a string which releases plugs located therein.

The apparatus is mounted on a wall and is intended to flush out foreign matter from a person's eyes in an emergency or other situation. 摘要： A combined fixture for turning the eyelids and washing the eye is disclosed. This apparatus utilizes one bottle to contain the clean water and dirty water in separate parts. A pair of blades is attached with the bottle that can be utilized to clip the upper eyelid outwardly. A roller set which can be turned just into one direction enables the clipped upper eyelid to be turned inside out. By means of a air chamber, the clean water in the bottle can be flowed to spray into a washing basin which attaches together with the bottle as a whole body to wash the eye and eyelids. The lower eyelid is clipped by another element. A hole with a valve is opened on the bottle which enables the repeated pressing of the air chamber to flow the clean water to spray into the washing basin in continuously condition, not in the intermittent condition. The water after it is utilized will flow back into another part of the bottle and then be drained out. So that all the process of turning the eyelids inside out and washing the eye is completed without make the hand touching the eyelids. The strict sanitary principle can be kept therefore.

摘要： An eyewash fountain and nozzle structure therefor that are especially useful in industrial and laboratory environments to provide a water discharge suitable for flooding the eyes of a workman to flush irritants and injurious matter therefrom. Use of such fountains is mostly sporadic and occasional so that water is ordinarily absent from the nozzle structure and supply conduit leading thereto at the start of each use either because of evaporation therefrom or, in the case of a freeze-proof fountain, because of the self-draining characteristics thereof. The fountain has a flow control device interposed in the water flow circuit to maintain the volumetric flow of water to the nozzle structure relatively independent of supply line pressure and to prevent surging of the water discharge from the nozzle structure. The nozzle structure has a large chamber provided with spaced apart inlet and outlet openings, and a diffuser interposed between such openings in alignment wtth the inlet intercepts any stream of water injected into the chamber to reduce its momentum and convert the discharge of water through the outlet into a lower-energy reduced-velocity flow.
