The prior method presents the drawback that it is not possible, with a single feed device, to feed into the barking drum roundwood of different lengths but only either long, intermediate-sized or short logs. With the present invention, this problem has been solved in that the logs are positively fed by the conveyor, at low speed, into the lower part of the barking drum, through a feed cylinder.

    摘要: A hydraulic feed control system for log debarkers having three infeed and three outfeed rolls. Each roll is driven by its own hydraulic motor. Each infeed motor is connected in series with a corresponding outfeed motor whereby three pairs of motors are defined. The hydraulic fluid is pumped through a three way flow divider which divides the fluid equally to each of these pairs. Each of the motors has a special crossover relief with a directional flow control that will prevent the excessive pressure that may be created by one of the motors in the series from effecting the pressure to the other motors. The special relief is also provided with a direct line into the oil reservoir which if needed either of the motors in series may siphon oil from the reservoir through the directional flow control valve without affecting the other motor. The return line from the outfeed (down flow) motor joins a common return which is separate from the relief return to tank. When any of the motors for any reason is inadequately supplied with oil, the motor will act as a pump siphoning fluid from the tank. Additionally, any excess fluid flowing to a motor will drain through the relief system back to the tank. This system is also supplied with a separate return to reservoir.

    摘要: The self-centering feeding device (20') for elongated objects such as logs includes a conveyor means (30) carried by a parallel mechanism having a vertical stationary part. The parallel mechanism is connected to a mechanical engagement means (26) and is controlled by a driving means (28) activated when an object on the conveyor means reaches a predetermined position, and is then kept activated the whole time during which the object is fed-through. The object is thus firmly clamped between the conveyor means and the engagement means and has no possibility to rotate about its longitudinal axis. The conveyor means may therefore be much shorter than the object. The invention is suitable for general application, but in particular for application in the log processing industry.

    摘要: A feeding device for use with tree processing machines such as delimbing, barking and slashing machines wherein feed rolls are provided on each side of a feed path for the tree trunk. The feed rolls have a conical configuration and are mounted for rotation about axes inclined to each other at an angle equal to the base angle of the rolls. The surfaces of the feed rolls facing towards each other lie parallel and have a greater radial distance to the axis of rotation at the base portion of the feed rolls than at the upper portion thereof. This arrangement establishes a greater feeding force at the upper portion of the feed rolls than at the base portion and a circumferential speed for the feed rolls which is highest at the base portion and lowest at the upper portion thereby enabling tree trunks having relatively smaller diameters to be advanced through the rolls at relatively higher speeds.
