摘要： The safety guard mechanism for a lifting device is a mechanism that can automatically deploy a safety guard pivotally mounted to the lower surface of the frame of a portable aerial lift device when the lift is raised. By lowering the guard member, the distance between the lower surface of the base and the ground is decreased. The helical screw-based mechanical device includes a mechanical translator coupled with a rotator, the entire assembly interconnecting the guard member and a scissors-type lift so that raising the lift drives the lowering of the guard member. In the lowered position, the guard prevents tipping of the lift should one or more wheels enter a pothole or other depression. A helical screw latch is included to provide a self-locking feature.

摘要： A collapsible access tower has a chassis 10 supporting a pair of road wheels 11 and outriggers 16,17 to impart stability when in use, and a pair of extensible multi-section columns 26,50 carrying a platform 35. A section 27 of one column 26 is rigidly connected to the chassis and another section 33 of that column to the platform 35. The other column is configured as an extendible ladder 50 one section 51 of which is hinged to the chassis 10 and another section 52 of which is hinged to the platform 35. When the platform is in its lowermost setting, the hinged connections of the two sections 51,52 of the ladder 50 are co-axial so that the ladder may be pivoted to a transit setting. A winch arrangement 39 is associated with column 26 to allow raising and lowering of the platform 35.

摘要： A work platform assembly and trailer system for transporting and vertically positioning the work platform assembly adjacent bridge deck surfaces to be treated. The trailer includes front and rear lifting assemblies for supporting, and being removably attached to, an end of the work platform assembly. The lifting assemblies include vertically oriented lifting cylinders for vertically positioning the work platform assembly immediately adjacent the bridge deck surfaces to be treated. The trailer includes wheels and a hitch to facilitate the transport of the work platform assembly to the site of the bridge deck. The work platform assembly is modular in construction so as to be configurable according to the configuration and size, particularly width, requirements of each bridge and to metal surfaces thereof which are to be reconditioned by abrasive stripping and recoating. An adjustable curtain frame and/or other devices enable sealed enclosure of bridge surfaces to be treated and optimum access of workers to those surfaces during the treatment. Airborne residue is evacuated by vacuum into a dust collection system for subsequent disposal in a manner which does not contaminate the environment, while heavier residue and spent abrasive grit is collected and positively moved off of the platform assembly into a residue separation system for subsequent, environmentally safe separation and reconstitution of the grit for reuse. The dust collection and residue separation systems may be removably attached to the trailer.

摘要： A stable lift apparatus for a pickup truck includes a base which is supported on the sidewalls of the cargo compartment. Each of a pair of scissor assemblies has two lifting arms having the front ends pivotably attached to one of the base and a raisable platform. A pair of hydraulic cylinders moves a central pivot shaft upward to raise the platform. A portable stabilizer has a ground engaging foot adjustable in distance from the stabilizer's pivotable attachment to the lift apparatus or pickup truck. Prior to setting the stabilizer, its length is greater than the distance to the ground. Movement of the truck a short distance sets the stabilizer in a stabilizing mode.
