摘要: The present invention relates to a portable radiation measuring device, comprising a detector adapted to deliver electrical signals whose amplitude spectrum depends biunivocally on the energy spectrum of a radiation which may be received by the detector, amplification means and electronic means for compensating the sensitivity of the detector as a function of the energy so as to render it identical to that of human tissues, producing an output signal which is in a constant ratio with the energy of said radiation which may be absorbed by human tissues and display means, connected to the amplification and compensation means, for displaying the dose of radiation received by the detector.

摘要: A device for individually checking exposure to radiation is sensitive to the radiation and produces an alarm (acoustic and/or optical) when a threshold radiation dose is reached. An included time-measuring device furthermore warns the user when a surveillance period has expired. The radiation sensitive device may use an electret while the time-measuring device uses the drop in voltage of a battery occurring at the end of the discharge of the battery.

摘要: Device making it possible to check, prior to or after each irradiation treatment session, the proper operation of the dose-measuring systems associated with a radiotherapy apparatus and comprising at least one dose-measuring circuit equipped with a counter system of preselect design. This device comprises a pulse generator G, means for applying said pulses to the counter system of at least one of the measuring circuits and means making it possible to halt the generator G and reset the counter system to zero when coincidence occurs between the preselected number of pulses corresponding to a preselected dose level D and the displayed number of pulses corresponding to the dose level effectively delivered by an irradiation source S.

摘要: An apparatus and method are provided to correct for time-walk errors during photon detections (e.g., detecting gamma rays). A time-walk correction is determined using measurements of energy (or charge) that apply different time windows, enabling corrections accounting for variations in the ratio between fast and slow components in the detected pulse. For example, one time window can be used to integrate the leading end of the pulse, thereby predominantly measuring the fast component, while a second window is used to integrate a trailing end of the pulse to predominantly measure the slow component. Alternatively or additionally, low-pass and high-pass filters may select the slow and fast components, respectively. The time-walk correction is a function of multiple measurements representing different components (e.g., fast and slow) of the pulse shape.

摘要: A system for detecting a position of an ionizing radiation. The system includes a radiation detector including a plurality of cathode films, a plurality of anode strips sets, a plurality of insulator films, a conductive grid, and a drift region. Each set of the plurality of anode strips sets is disposed between a respective pair of adjacent cathode films of the plurality of cathode films. Each of the plurality of insulator films is disposed between a respective cathode film of the plurality of cathode films and a respective set of the plurality of anode strips sets. The conductive grid is disposed in parallel with the detection plane and exposed to the ionizing radiation. A drift region includes a region between the conductive grid and the detection plane. The radiation detector is configured to ionize a gas by generating an electric field inside the drift region.
