摘要: A large number of irrigation system devices connected to a common two-wire cable can be powered and individually controlled from a central location by transmitting over the cable DC pulses of alternating polarity. Control information is conveyed by transmitting a command pulse train consisting of a series of pulses, separated by short no-power intervals, whose polarities indicate logic ones or zeros. Following a command pulse train, a selected watering station decoder acknowledges receipt of instructions by drawing current during a predetermined pulse of an alternating-polarity power pulse cycle, while a sensor decoder returns binary data by drawing current during one or the other of the alternating-polarity pulses of a series of power pulse cycles.

摘要: A packet detector joint detects 802.11a packets, 802.11b packets and interference that is within a monitored frequency range but is not formatted as 802.11a packets or 802.11b packets. The packet detector can use signals from one or more antennas. Detection of signals is done using differentially detected correlations. In addition to packet detection, the packet detector can identify signal levels, noise levels and locations of narrowband interference. The process of packet detection and identifying other indicators can be done simultaneously and as the signal is being received.

摘要: Method and apparatus for luring a member of an animal species to an area in an environment. In one aspect, a pre-recorded sound that simulates an environmental contact sound made by the animal species in the environment is played back to lure the member of the animal species to the area. In another aspect, first and second pre-recorded sounds that simulate first and second sounds made by the animal species in the environment are played back contemporaneously.

摘要: A semiconductor device or other suitable substrate and method with single or multi layers of buried micro pipes are disclosed. This is achieved by controlling the aspect ratio of trenches as well as controlling the deposition characteristics of the material used to fill the trenches. A buried micro pipe is formed by filling a trench that has a height which is larger than a width thereof, so that the trench filler material lines sidewalls and bottom of the trench, and covers the top of the trench to form the micro pipe within the trench. Another layer can be formed over the filler material and planarized. Alternatively, the filler material itself can be planarized. Forming trenches in the planarized layer, and repeating the above steps forms a second set of buried micro pipes in these new trenches. This forms a semiconductor device having multiple layer of buried micro pipes. Via holes may be etched to contact a micro pipe, or to inter connect micro pipes buried at different levels. Thus, instead of eliminating defective voids in trenches, the voids are controlled to form the micro pipes, which may be used to circulate a cooling fluid, or lined with a conductive material to form a micro light pipe channel, or buried conductive pipes.

摘要: A process and sulfite-free solution for use in preserving fresh-peeled vegetable and fruits, as well as fresh leafy vegetables. Fresh peeled potatoes, other peeled vegetables and fresh peeled fruits are preserved by a first dipping process or spraying employing a mixture of the commerical preservative SPORIX (tm) and citric acid. After trimming, the peeled vegetables are subjected to a second exposure to the same solution; and thereafter, the peeled vegetables are packaged and refrigerated for up to 12 days without suffering discoloration or putrificatiohn. Leafy vegetables, after a similar but shorter treatment, are storable for up to 9 days before consumption.

摘要: The present invention includes coating compositions and methods for coating substrates using the coating compositions. In some embodiments of the invention, a coating composition is prepared by a method including the steps of a) preparing a latex emulsion by a method including mixing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer component in a carrier to form a monomer emulsion, and reacting the monomer emulsion with an initiator to form the latex emulsion, b) preparing a hydroxyl functional oil graft copolymer by a method including reacting an epoxidized vegetable oil with a hydroxyl functional material in the presence of an acid catalyst to form a hydroxyl functional oil polyol, and reacting the hydroxyl functional oil polyol with an ethylenically unsaturated monomer component in the presence of an initiator to form the hydroxyl functional oil polyol graft copolymer, and c) blending the latex emulsion and a crosslinker then adding the hydroxyl functional oil graft copolymer to form the coating composition. The coating compositions may exhibit no or minimal blush, no or minimal color pick-up, and commercially acceptable adhesion. Substrates coated with the coating compositions of the invention are also disclosed.
